There are a lot of questions that still need to be answered when it comes to Arsenal Football Club this season, and the fans are well aware of that fact – even though, in the Europa League, they continue to be one of the favourites to win the entire thing. Such is the nature of this crazy game we call football, and such is the entertainment value to be found in the Europa League.
Today, we’re going to take a look at tomorrow night’s encounter between Arsenal and Vitoria SC as the Gunners prepare to make their way over to Portugal.
One thing that we were all able to learn about Vitoria in the reverse fixture at the Emirates is that they sure are plucky. If it wasn’t for the masterclass shown by Nicolas Pepe, the Portuguese side could’ve easily walked away with all three points. In this one they’ve got quite literally nothing to lose and their home fans will be behind them, which is why this could even prove to be a trickier game than the last for Arsenal to contend with.
With their hopes of finishing in the top four looking more and more unrealistic as the weeks go by, it makes sense for the club to focus as much attention as they possibly can on what’s going to happen in the Europa League. The UEL is a competition that offers teams a chance to enter the Champions League, and as such, the Gunners should be paying as much attention to it as they possibly can.
We think Arsenal are going to walk away with another three points, but again, we think they’ll scratch and claw before getting there. Vitoria are tough and they’re going to give the visitors all they’ve got, which is why we’re backing them to push Arsenal all the way before Emery’s men escape with the win.
Will Arsenal pick up the three points?
