According to Estadio Deportivo, Spanish La Liga side Valencia are interested in Arsenal’s Joel Campbell this summer. The Costa Rica international has been on the periphery with the Gunners in 2016, and hasn’t been given any assurances about playing time in 2016/17 which could see him considering an exit from the Emirates Stadium.
Campbell made 19 Premier League appearance for Arsene Wenger’s side last season, scoring just three goals. Being a left-footed right-winger, he filled a void in the attack for the lengthy period of the previous campaign, but was pushed out of the side when Arsenal welcomed back a number of previously injured players.
His future has continued to be up in the air with Wenger reticent to sell him due to his ability, but not trusting him enough for regular first-team action. The 24-year-old might take matters into his own hands this summer, however, as a move to Valencia might be too good to turn down if they’re offering him regular action.
Los Che recently signed Luis Nani from Fenerbahce this summer. The Portugese winger is expected to play as a right-footed left-winger, potentially complementing Campbell well if any prospective deal took progress. He still has two years left on his deal, but will want to hash out his long-term future with the side if being given a choice to push for first-team football elsewhere.
