Transfer rumours: Scamacca, Richarlison, Jesus

Alexandre Lacazette has left Arsenal and has been confirmed as an Olympique Lyon player again. His departure follows fast in the wake of that of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in January, and Arsenal have found themselves desperately short of strikers, despite Eddie Nketiah reportedly changing his mind about leaving and being close to signing a new contract.

Naturally, the club have turned to the transfer market in order to sort the issue out, and here’s what the Evening Standard are reporting about that mission.

Scamacca

The Gunners are apparently interested in Sassuolo’s Scamacca. However, they could face fierce competition in the form of Paris Saint-Germain in case Mauro Icardi leaves the Parc des Princes.

Further more, Arsenal are believed to have already had a bid of €30 million rejected for the services of the 23-year-old, who scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A matches in 2021/22. Sassuolo demand close to €50m.

Richarlison

The Brazilian attacker has reportedly told Everton he wants to leave this summer, after helping the Toffees avoid relegation from the Premier League. The 25-year-old brings an amount of street wisdom with him, though there appear to be some disciplinary issues with him lately.

It’s not unheard of for him to get sent off for a deliberately dangerous foul, and it’s questionable whether Arsenal need another one of those. Also, he’s recently had a fracas with Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior in Brazil training.

Everton are said to be asking for £65 million for Richarlison, and while some say the price is too high and that the player wants to play in the Champions League, others suggest a deal is not so unlikely.

Gabriel Jesus

The Manchester City man seemed almost done just a little while ago, but fresh reports have stated that Real Madrid could be interested in his services after getting snubbed by PSG star Kylian Mbappe. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been mentioned as well, and Jesus is expected to make a decision in the coming days.
