It’s probably one of the least popular things in world football outside of big tournaments and yet, here we are again, arriving at another international break. These two weeks are often full of qualifiers that some care about and some really don’t but through all of the smoke and mirrors, there’s one ever-present truth – Arsenal fans need this break.
So instead of wallowing in self-pity we think it’s about time that everyone just recognises how nice it’ll be to know the Gunners can’t disappoint us this weekend. Mikel Arteta knows better than anyone that changes are needed and they’re needed pretty promptly, but after three defeats, perhaps this is the kind of result that’s needed in order to break the downward trajectory the club seems to be on.
Go see friends, spend time with family, watch other sports or maybe even tune into the international games themselves; enjoy it.
The game against Norwich is absolutely huge for Arteta’s future and the ramifications for the team as a whole, but that isn’t something any of us really need to worry about for a good few weeks yet, so let’s all take a minute to relax.
What will you be doing during the international break?
