Does Yaya Sanogo have a future with Arsenal? 0

Posted on March 23, 2015 by Crippy Cooke

Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has been on loan with Crystal Palace this season, but has so far failed to make an impact. The Frenchman, 22, has played just 10 minutes of football in the last few weeks at Selhurst Park, failing to make the squad entirely for three games in a row.

Sanogo has made just two starts for Palace since signing in January, and he stands little chance of forcing his way into Arsenal’s attack, with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck to be his competition. Chuba Akpom is also ahead of him in the pecking order according to Wenger, so there’s every chance Sanogo could be sent out on a season-long deal in the summer.

Arsenal’s young French striker Yaya Sanogo has joined the Gunners London rivals Crystal Palace on-loan for the rest of the season. The striker had been linked with a number of moves, including a move back to his homeland with Bordeaux.

However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had stated that he would prefer the youngster to go on-loan to a Premier League club in order to gain experience in the English top-flight. He could now get a chance of more first team football in the Premier League with the Eagles.

Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo will be joining French side Bordeaux on loan until the end of the season, according to les Girondins chairman Jean-Louis Triaud.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that the 21-year-old could be farmed out on loan in the winter transfer window, and it looks as though the talented forward will be moving back to France despite some Premier League interest.

Namely, Bordeaux appear to be close to completing a loan deal for Sanogo, with les Girondins moving to suggest the deal will be completed in the coming days.

Arsenal’s young French striker Yaya Sanogo looks set to be sent out on loan in January in a bid for the young striker to play regular first team football and improve his game.

The striker has struggled for first team appearances in north London and the summer arrival of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez pushed him down the pecking order for strikers.

The striker who turns 22 at the end of January has made just two Premier League starts and one substitute appearance for the Gunners this season, although he did also start two of the Gunners Champions League games.

Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is having a stop-start career with the Gunners, with the Frenchman in and out of the side due to patchy form and injury troubles. He recently celebrated scoring his first Champions League goal in his second campaign with Arsenal, but has racked up just 309 minutes of football this season.

With manager Arsene Wenger welcoming back Olivier Giroud from injury, while having the likes of Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez as alternate attacking options, rumours have been linking Yaya Sanogo with a host of Premier League clubs.

The Daily Mail has suggested that Crystal Palace will attempt to sign French striker Yaya Sanogo on a six-month loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock does not appear to be satisfied with his current attacking options and he has expressed his desire to bring the Frenchman to Selhurst Park at the earliest opportunity.

It remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger will be prepared to sanction such a deal, although with Olivier Giroud returning into action and Danny Welbeck also available, Sanogo could be allowed to leave.

Arsenal completed their Champions League group campaign with a comfortable 4-1 victory away at Galatasaray. As expected the Gunners finished second in the group behind German side Dortmund.

The Gunners made a fantastic start taking the lead after just two minutes through Lukas Podolski. Good work from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey lead to the ball falling to the Germany international on the left-side of the penalty area and the forward fired high into the roof of the net.

On seven minutes the home side had an effort on goal through centre-back Hakan Balta, who screwed the ball wide of goal. A few minutes later and Wojciech Szczesny claimed a long-range effort from Wesley Sneijder with ease.

Arsenal travels to the Hawthorns on Saturday to face West Brom in the Premier League.

The home side are currently 13th in the Premier League table, but are only three points clear of the relegation zone. The Baggies have suffered consecutive Premier League defeats against Newcastle and Chelsea last time out, as the Baggies were reduced to ten men with the dismissal of Claudio Yacob.

Alan Irvine’s side have won just once in their last six games in all competitions, which came at struggling Leicester. Baggies young striker Saido Berahino was arrested earlier this week for drink drinking, but the seven goal striker still looks set to feature in this clash.

Arsenal enjoyed a brilliant 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, but the win did come at a cost as both Mikel Arteta and Yaya Sanogo picked up injuries in the process, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The Gunners recovered well from back to back defeats to Swansea and Manchester United, and produced a very good display to defeat the German giants and secure their place in the Champions League knockout stages.

It was Yaya Sanogo who opened the scoring after he had been surprisingly included in the starting line-up, before Alexis Sanchez scored another excellent goals to kill off the game and continue his scoring run.

Arsenal defeated Dortmund 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night and sealed qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The Gunners made a flying start and were ahead after just two minutes. The young French striker played a one-two with Santi Cazorla on the edge of the Dortmund box, before firing a low shot past Roman Weidenfeller from inside the penalty box. Sanogo saw an effort on goal blocked on nine minutes.

The next chance arrived for the Gunners on 14 minutes, as Santi Cazorla found Alexis Sanchez in the Dortmund area with a ball over the top of the Dortmund defence, but the Chilean completely miss-hit his effort on goal and the danger was cleared.
