According to, Chile are set to risk Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez against Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.

The former Barcelona star suffered a tear in his hamstring muscle in training just a few days ago. However, the Chile hierarchy are desperate for Sanchez to feature in the vital game, despite the potential of aggravating the injury.

A ‘suicidal decision’

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger described Chile risking the forward in the game as a ‘suicidal decision’ a few days ago. The French boss is speaking a lot of sense. He usually does on these sorts of issues. Surely it cannot be safe to let Sanchez play just a few days after sustaining a muscle tear.

France manager Didier Deschamps has left out Arsenal striker Didier Deschamps from his latest squad, with the centre-forward currently struggling with injury and match fitness. After a late summer holiday following his Euro 2016 excursions, Giroud had a toe injury to contend with and was suspended for Arsenal’s recent Champions League clash so supporters have seen very little of the former Montpellier man this season.

Arsenal’s industrious midfielder Tomas Rosicky could be another name on the Gunners’ injury list after limping out of his side’s World Cup qualifying match against Italy.

The Czech Republic international could be missing for a number of weeks with what looked to be a leg injury.

While Rosicky has started all three of his side’s Premier League games this season, he faces stiff competition from new arrival Mesut Ozil – who signed from La Liga runners-up Real Madrid.

Many feel he could be one to lose his place, as midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been in insatiable form for the London outfit this campaign.

Theo Walcott puts in another limp display for England 1

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott wouldn’t have impressed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had he been watching his display against Ukraine in the World Cup qualifiers.

The 24-year old limped off after putting in a such a display where he greatly underperformed. At times, it seemed he was unaware of his role in the England side. Instead of using his pace to get in behind the opponents defence, he tried to cut inside and was kept at bay by the Ukraine defence with consummate ease.
