Portuguese media outlet Ojogo reports that Arsenal scouts were in Portugal this week, watching Sporting in action against Rio Ave.
Arsene Wenger sent a representative to the Estadio do Dragao to watch long-term target Danilo, who put in another masterful display for his team.
The 26-year-old Portugal international was praised for his box-to-box efforts and was underlined as a top performer for his side despite missing a sitter.
Danilo has thus continued a great run of form and once again has the north London outfit on alert over a possible move. Arsene Wenger is keen to solve the long-standing midfield issue and has identified Danilo and Sporting’s William Carvalho as alternatives for each other. .......Read more here.....

According to reports from Portuguese Publication A Bola, Arsenal are set to make a double swoop for Sporting Lisbon pair William Carvalho and Gelson Martins, who are believed to be valued at £70million.
According to a Daily Star report, Arsene Wenger is hoping to tie up a quick deal for the Portuguese international pair.
Pair are highly rated
Both Carvalho and Martins are highly rated throughout Europe. The Gunners have been reportedly interested in signing defensive midfielder Carvalho for the last few years. However, most of Europe’s top clubs have been linked with moves for the 25-year-old. .......Read more here.....

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal have been handed a boost in their reportedly chase of Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder William Carvalho, after talks over a new contract with the Portuguese club broke down.
Carvalho has been mooted as a possible Arsenal signing for a long time, especially before the emergence of French midfielder Francis Coquelin. The Metro reported yesterday that Arsenal sent scouts to watch Portugal midfielder William Carvalho at the under-21 European Championships.
The 23-year-old has long been heralded as the answer to Arsenal’s defensive midfielder problem, even before the emergence of Francis Coquelin.
Carvalho showed why is so highly-rated by winning Player of the Tournament at Euro 2015, despite missing the crucial penalty in the final defeat against Sweden. It is the rumour that does not seem to go away, William Carvalho signing for the Gunners this summer from Sporting Lisbon.
According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to make a move for the highly-rated midfielder, with Costa Rican international Joel Campbell possibly used as makeweight in the deal.
Carvalho has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a good while now, but has also been linked with moves to Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal are in talks with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon about signing defensive midfielder William Carvalho this summer, with claims that Sporting will be willing to sell the star for £21.5million, with the Portuguese club reportedly in financial trouble.
Rejected
The Gunners are believed to have had a number of bids rejected for the highly-rated young central midfielder, including bids last summer. The fee was reported as the sticking point in any deal, as Sporting were believed to have wanted around £30million for Carvalho.

According to various sources, Arsenal’s long-winded move for William Carvalho could still happen, with reports suggesting manager Arsene Wenger and Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho to hold talks at a Soccerex global conference.
All through the summer, clubs had been keen on signing Carvalho, but no deal materialised. The 22-year-old has risen to prominence with Sporting CP, and for Arsenal he’d be the perfect acquisition as he can play in both midfield and defence.

According to the Metro, Arsenal could make a move for Southampton’s defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama. The Kenyan star made a name for himself in the SPL with Celtic, before making a £12.5million move to the south coast.
Mixed Fortunes
Wanyama has enjoyed mixed fortunes at St Marys in his year at the club. He made 24 Premier League appearances last season, as injury disrupted his debut season in the top-flight slightly. However, the midfielder still looks a powerhouse midfielder.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could be set close to completing a £24million deal for highly-rated Sporting Lisbon central midfielder William Carvalho. The Mail claims that the deal is being widely reported in the Portuguese press.
Release Clause
