Should Arsenal offer Danny Welbeck a new deal? 0

According to the Metro and one of my colleagues, Arsenal’s injury-prone striker Danny Welbeck could still sign a contract extension with the north London club.

The 28-year-old is likely to miss the rest of the campaign due to an ankle injury picked up in November in the Europa League. With his contract expiring this summer and seemingly no talks taking place, it seemed that the forward would become a free agent this summer.

According to the Metro, Arsenal set to offer former Roma sporting director Monchi a three-year contract worth £2.5million per week. The Spaniard left the club from Rome last week along with head coach Eusebio Di Francesco, as the Italian club look to revive their flagging fortunes.

The Metro report suggests that Arsenal face competition from Monchi’s former club Sevilla, where he worked so successfully with current Gunners boss Unai Emery.

One of the best in the business

Monchi is regarded as one of the best sporting directors/directors of football in the world game. The Spaniard is seen as the man behind Sevilla staying financial stable, while also being competitive on the pitch.

According to the Metro, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be set to leave the north London club with less than a week until the transfer window shuts. The report suggests that both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in signing the Wales international before transfer deadline next Thursday.

Contract talks dragging on

Ramsey is now in the last year of his Arsenal contract, therefore the midfielder could leave as a free agent next summer. Reportedly, talks have been ongoing between the midfielder’s representatives and the club for some time.

Arsenal to compete with rivals for Bayer Leverkusen star 0

According to the Metro, Arsenal are set to compete with a host of rival Premier League clubs to sign Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey this summer. The 20-year-old is also reported to be of interest to Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, the Premier League trio are not the only ones interested in the highly-rated winger. Reports from German suggest that Bayer has already turned down a £52million off from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, telling the Bavarian giants that they want £88million for the Jamaican-born star.

Arsenal looking to German ace to replace struggling star 0

According to the Metro, Arsenal are eying a £22million summer move for Bayer Leverkusen Bernd Leno, with current number goalkeeper Petr Cech struggling for form.

The Leverkusen goalkeeper is highly rated and has stated express interest in moving to pastures new. However, he will only move if he is the first choice goalkeeper at his next club.

The metro quote him as saying: ‘If I go abroad, it would not be as a number-one contender, but only as clear number one,’

Palace 8/15 to go down, as Arsenal identify Zaha as Sanchez replacement 1

According to reports from the Metro (among others), Arsenal are lining up a £35million bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha as a replacement for wantaway Chilean international Alexis Sanchez.

The Metro reports that Manchester City could renew their interest in Sanchez in the winter transfer window. However, if the Chilean fails to secure a move in the January transfer window, he will likely leave the Gunners next summer as a free agent.

That obviously means Arsenal need to find a replacement for the 28-year-old, as well as Mesut Ozil who also looks set to leave.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to leave Arsenal 0

According to the Metro, Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to leave the Gunners this summer. If this is true, it will bring out mixed emotions in Gunners fans.

The England midfielder has just a year left on his contract in north London. Reports have emerged that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not exactly doing everything in his power to keep the midfielder at the club.

Not lived up to his potential

I have always been torn on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as an Arsenal player. He arrived at the club from Southampton with a seemingly bright future ahead of him. He has yet to live up to his potential at the club.

Monaco star reportedly interested in signing for Arsenal 0

According to the Metro and reports from France, Monaco winger Thomas Lemar has decided to put his contract talks with the French champions on hold because of interest from Arsenal and boss Arsene Wenger.

Wenger has always enjoyed a good working relationship with his former club from the principality and that could bear fruit in this case.

A star for Monaco last season

Lemar has understandably attracted the attention of clubs from elsewhere, as he played a key part in Monaco’s sensational campaign. In 51 appearances for the French champions, Lemar scored 14 times and also produced 14 assists.

Should Arsenal consider allowing Giroud to leave this summer? 0

According to the Metro, French club Lyon have enquired about the availability of Arsenal and France striker Olivier Giroud. This comes as the Gunners have reportedly been in talks with OL over a big money for another France international Alexandre Lacazette.

The report does not suggest that Arsenal’s bid for Lacazette depends on Giroud joining the French club. However, it would be an interesting scenario, as the French club are reported holding out for an initial fee of around £48million, with a possible £10million more in add-ons, which is big money.

Arsenal linked with move for PSG star 3

Posted on February 26, 2017 by David Nugent

According to the Metro, Arsenal are on the trail of highly-rated full-back Layvin Kurzawa and could be set to make a move for the star in the summer.

The Gunners rate the left-back at around £17million and Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset claim the side from north London will make a move to sign Kurzawa whether Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger stays at the club or not.

Highly-rated left-back

Kurzawa is highly rated and is reported to be a summer target identified by Wenger as a summer signing. Spanish international Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs have competed for the left-back position in the last few seasons.
