Arsenal should be heading into an away game like Saturday’s fancying three points. However, the Gunners recent away record suggests that an away win is not a foregone conclusion.

The Premier League returns this weekend after a two-week international break. Arsenal’s first game after the break is a trip to Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

The home side have made a woeful start to their Premier League campaign this season, having failed to win any of their four league games, while suffering three defeats in the process.

The Magpies have struggled to keep the opposition out, as the north east side has conceded at least two goals in three of their four league games this season. The home side’s poor form started at the back end of last season. Due to that poor form, Rafa Benitez’s side has now lost seven of their last nine top-flight games.

Arsenal travels to Newcastle’s St James Park in the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

However, last time out Steve McClaren’s side earned a very creditable goalless draw at Manchester United’s Old Trafford, with Dutch ‘keeper Tim Krul the star of the show pulling of a number of excellent saves.
