According to the Daily Star, Arsenal could renew their interest in Roma central midfielder Steven N’Zonzi this summer. The 30-year-old star has been linked with moves to North London on a number of occasions in recent years.

Unai Emery’s presence at Arsenal has no doubt fanned the flames of the move. The experienced midfielder enjoyed one of the finest seasons of his career under the Spaniard in Andalucia at Sevilla.

Could be available for a cut-price fee

N’Zonzi moved to Roma for a fee of around £25million from Sevilla. The Frenchman has struggled to find his best form in the Italian capital, with reports from Italy suggesting he could leave for a fee of around £19million.

According to the Metro, Arsenal set to offer former Roma sporting director Monchi a three-year contract worth £2.5million per week. The Spaniard left the club from Rome last week along with head coach Eusebio Di Francesco, as the Italian club look to revive their flagging fortunes.

The Metro report suggests that Arsenal face competition from Monchi’s former club Sevilla, where he worked so successfully with current Gunners boss Unai Emery.

Monchi is regarded as one of the best sporting directors/directors of football in the world game. The Spaniard is seen as the man behind Sevilla staying financial stable, while also being competitive on the pitch.

According to the Independent, Arsenal are considering hiring Roma’s Monchi as the replacement for outgoing head of recruitment. The report suggests that the Gunners are set for a restructuring of the technical staff, with Monchi a candidate for technical director.

Monchi has built himself an excellent reputation in the European game over the last decade. The Spaniard joined Roma in 2017 after a vastly successful period at Sevilla. In fact, Monchi is regarded as the man who was responsible for the Andalucian’s clever business practices during his reign.

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal are set to battle it out with London rivals Chelsea for the signature of Roma wonderkid Cengiz Under. A fee of around £54million has been mooted. The youngster cost Roma just £12million when he joined them from Istanbul Basaksehir back in 2017.

The young Turkish star has impressed for the Giallorossi this season and is reportedly attracting the interest of a number of big European clubs, and Chelsea!

The likes of German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have both been strongly linked with moves for the attacking midfielder. However, the Bundesliga pair are unlikely to be able to compete with the financial muscle of the two English clubs.

Ajax star Hakim Ziyech is being linked with a move to Arsenal courtesy of his agent Rene van der Dijp. The Dutch agent has talked about wanting the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool to make a bid for the Moroccan international.

Van der Dijp told Dutch publication Voetbal Primeur: “I hope that there will be a better club than Roma – an Arsenal or Liverpool,” That is a major insult to the Giallorossi, who have a fine history.

According to reports from Bosnian publication Pravda BL, Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac could be the next Arsenal boss. There was a recent story that Buvac had left the Merseyside club. However, it has now been confirmed by the Liverpool Echo that the 56-year-old has been allowed leave until the end of the season for personal reasons.

The leave comes at a strange time considering that the Reds are facing Roma in a vital Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday night, although Klopp’s side does have a 5-2 lead from the first leg at Anfield.

Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny could be finally set to leave Arsenal in a £10m deal that will see him join Italian champions Juventus, according to the Guardian. Talks are reported to be at an advanced stage and Szczesny is now expected to complete a move to Turin.

The Polish international will now likely be a backup to veteran Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, whose contract with the Bianconeri expires next summer. The 27-year-old will then hope to become the number one with the Italian giants, although Buffon has not stated he will retire next summer.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal’s Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will hold discussions with the Gunners about whether he has a first team future. This comes after widespread reports that the former-Roma loanee is set to join Italian champions Juventus.

Talking about Szczesny’s future, his agent David Manasseh told Przeglad Sportowy: “There is still no agreement with Juventus,”

“Szczesny has yet to talk with Wenger, who has been confirmed as Arsenal coach for the next two years.”

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojcieh Szczesny is believed to be subject of increased interest from Serie A hot-shots Napoli, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.

Partenopei are not thoroughly satisfied with their goalkeeping options and are willing to bring the Arsenal goalkeeper to challenge Pepe Reina for the spot in goal next season.

Napoli’s back-up ‘keepers Rafael Cabral and Luigi Sepe are both likely to leave the club at the end of the season, whereas Spanish shot stopper Pepe Reina has come under heavy criticism this term due to some rather shaky performances.
