A big reputation in the European game

Monchi has built himself an excellent reputation in the European game over the last decade. The Spaniard joined Roma in 2017 after a vastly successful period at Sevilla. In fact, Monchi is regarded as the man who was responsible for the Andalucian’s clever business practices during his reign.

Clubs already circling Under

The young Turkish star has impressed for the Giallorossi this season and is reportedly attracting the interest of a number of big European clubs, and Chelsea!

The likes of German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have both been strongly linked with moves for the attacking midfielder. However, the Bundesliga pair are unlikely to be able to compete with the financial muscle of the two English clubs.

Ajax star Hakim Ziyech is being linked with a move to Arsenal courtesy of his agent Rene van der Dijp. The Dutch agent has talked about wanting the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool to make a bid for the Moroccan international.

Van der Dijp told Dutch publication Voetbal Primeur: “I hope that there will be a better club than Roma – an Arsenal or Liverpool,” That is a major insult to the Giallorossi, who have a fine history.

According to reports from Bosnian publication Pravda BL, Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac could be the next Arsenal boss. There was a recent story that Buvac had left the Merseyside club. However, it has now been confirmed by the Liverpool Echo that the 56-year-old has been allowed leave until the end of the season for personal reasons.

The leave comes at a strange time considering that the Reds are facing Roma in a vital Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday night, although Klopp’s side does have a 5-2 lead from the first leg at Anfield.

The Polish international will now likely be a backup to veteran Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, whose contract with the Bianconeri expires next summer. The 27-year-old will then hope to become the number one with the Italian giants, although Buffon has not stated he will retire next summer.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojcieh Szczesny is believed to be subject of increased interest from Serie A hot-shots Napoli, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.

Partenopei are not thoroughly satisfied with their goalkeeping options and are willing to bring the Arsenal goalkeeper to challenge Pepe Reina for the spot in goal next season.

Napoli’s back-up ‘keepers Rafael Cabral and Luigi Sepe are both likely to leave the club at the end of the season, whereas Spanish shot stopper Pepe Reina has come under heavy criticism this term due to some rather shaky performances.

Having realised that he will have difficult time breaking into Arsenal’s first team following the string of injuries that kept him out of action for the most part last season, Jack Wilshere made a surprising decision just a couple of days prior to closure of the summer transfer window.

With new England boss Sam Allardyce deciding to overlook Arsenal midfielder for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Slovakia, the talented yet injury-laden midfielder asked his club to allow him to leave Emirates on loan in order to get regular playing time and get himself back on Allardyce’s radar.

Wojciech Szczesny has no future at Arsenal 0

Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is due to return to Italian club Roma on-loan with a view to a permanent £13.4million deal next summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Poles departure comes as very little surprise to anybody connected with the Gunners. It’s surprising that the deal took so long to happen.

Is still a promising goalkeeper

Wojciech Szczesny is still regarded as a ‘keeper with a lot of promise for the future. At 26-years-old the ‘keeper is nowhere near his prime as a goalkeeper. For a long time, he looked like he would become a top ‘keeper at Arsenal.
