Ceballos to leave Arsenal at the end of the season 0

Posted on April 30, 2021 by Veselin Trajkovic

Dani Ceballos will leave Arsenal at end of his loan spell and return to Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano, who adds that the decision was made ‘weeks ago’ and that the future of the midfielder will be decided afterwards.

Ceballos joined the Gunners initially in the summer of 2019 on a season-long loan. His importance to the team grew apace after Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery in the dugout, and he formed a regular partnership with Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park as Arsenal improved their form late on and went on to win the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

Will Martin Odegaard be at Arsenal next summer? 0

Posted on March 22, 2021 by Veselin Trajkovic

Martin Odegaard seems to have fitted in nicely at Arsenal following his arrival on loan from Real Madrid in January. It was to be expected; Arsenal needed a creative attacking midfielder, willing to take on responsibility and try to make things happen,  practically ever since Mesut Ozil fell out of favour about a year ago, and the 22-year-old Norwegian certainly fits that description. Not that such at first glance obvious foretellings always come to fruition, but this one, thankfully, has.

Asked what would it take for Odegaard to become a Gunner on a permanent basis a while back, manager Mikel Arteta said it would depend on two things.

Real annoyed with Odegaard statement 0

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid are annoyed by a statement recently made by Martin Odegaard, currently on loan at Arsenal.

Odegaard made his first start for the Gunners in the 4-2 triumph over Leeds United on Saturday. He played a good game as a No.10, behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang upfront, with Emile Rowe Smith and Bukayo Saka on either flank, before being replaced in the 77th minute by Mohamed Elneny as manager Mikel Arteta sought to provide some additional defensive stability to his team late on. The 22-year-old Norwegian is said to have adapted very quickly to what Arteta expects of him, as well as to life in London.

Zidane should understand Odegaard’s decision 0

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has publicly criticized Martin Odegaard over his decision to leave his team and join Arsenal on loan for the rest of the season.

“He wanted to leave, we have spoken about it two or three times,” the Frenchman said, as relayed by Marca.

“He is a player who wants to play. Martin wanted to leave, he wanted to get minutes and chances elsewhere. The player demanded it. I told him to stay and fight, but it wasn’t to be.”

Arsenal have completed and finally confirmed the signing of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, who will now be wearing the shirt No.11, previously worn by midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Technical director Edu spoke about the club’s efforts to bring in an attacking midfielder a while back, and it seems those efforts had intensified following the departure of Mesut Ozil. It was agreed that the German’s contract should be terminated, and he has now joined Fenerbahce, finally releasing the club from the burden of paying his enormous wages.

Arsenal and Real to discuss Ceballos and Odegaard situations in the summer 0

Posted on January 26, 2021 by Veselin Trajkovic

Arsenal and Real Madrid are expected to discuss the situations surrounding Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos at the end of the season, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Ceballos joined the Gunners initially in the summer of 2019 on a season-long loan. His fine performances warranted the club to at least try and turn the deal permanent at the end of the agreed spell, but they obviously failed to reach an agreement over it with Real. They were therefore obliged to wait and see if the Spanish giants would be able to sell him elsewhere, before making a move for another loan. Fortunately, no prospective suitor matched Real’s demands and Arsenal were able to bring the 23-year-old midfielder back to north London.

Arsenal sign Ryan and close in on Odegaard 0

Arsenal have completed and confirmed the signing of Brighton and Hove goalkeeper Matt Ryan on loan for the remaining part of the season.

The 28-year-old Australia international arrives to the Emirates to boost the competition for the spot between the posts, although, in all honesty, he doesn’t look very likely to pose a serious threat to Bernd Leno in that respect. He is more likely to compete, and probably beat, Alex Runarsson for the place on the bench, with the Icelander not very impressive for the Gunners since his arrival.

Arsenal approach Real Madrid for Martin Odegaard 0

According to a fresh report by Sky Sports, Arsenal have approached Real Madrid with an offer of a loan deal for Martin Odegaard.

The 22-year-old is an extremely gifted attacking midfielder, which perfectly suits what technical director Edu recently confirmed the club are on the lookout for. He spent last season on loan with Real Sociedad, and even though that deal was supposed to last two years, his excellent performances at the Anoeta Stadium, coupled with the financial issues Real are going through due to the ongoing pandemic, prompted an early recall.

Rumours: Real consider Ceballos recall, young defender clear for Arsenal medical 0

We’ve finally seen the back of 2020, and here’s hoping that this year will be a lot better to each and every one of us, in every possible way.

And with the turn of the year comes the January transfer window, with all the rumours and ‘reports’ that follow it like a pack of crows. Here’s two of the most recent ones concerning Arsenal.

Real consider Ceballos recall

Apparently, Real Madrid are not happy with the number of minutes Dani Ceballos is spending on the pitch in the Arsenal shirt and are contemplating options for his recall to the Spanish capital.

Arsenal and Real agree on another Ceballos loan 0

Posted on September 03, 2020 by Veselin Trajkovic

Dani Ceballos will be an Arsenal player in 2020/21 after all, according to Goal.com Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts.

The Spanish midfielder spent last season at the Emirates on loan from Real Madrid, and though his ability to fit in seemed different at different stages of the campaign, he made a big contribution towards the end and head coach Mikel Arteta was particularly keen on having the player at his disposal past this summer.

Ceballos had returned to Madrid after the Gunners triumphed in the FA Cup final and Real were said to be keen on a sale. He still had no place in the plans of Zinedine Zidane and they apparently needed the money.
