Real, Barcelona and Leicester monitoring Matteo Guendouzi? 0

Posted on June 26, 2020 by Veselin Trajkovic

It has been a season rather loaded with controversies for Matteo Guendouzi. He was called out for a bout of poor behaviour at Arsenal’s training camp in Dubai in the winter, with head coach Mikel Arteta reportedly not impressed, and he put on a show of anger at the end of the Gunners’ defeat away to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Five minutes before the break, the Seagulls forward Neal Maupay rather thuggishly bumped into Bernd Leno as the Arsenal goalkeeper caught the ball near the edge of the box. He was probably trying to make the German either drop the ball or step over the line, but the result of the contact was that Leno lost his footing and landed awkwardly, getting injured in the process and having to make way for Emiliano Martinez.

Could Arsenal take Ceballos on loan again? 0

Dani Ceballos has reportedly dropped a big hint that he could leave Real Madrid this summer permanently.

The midfielder joined the Gunners from Real on a season-long loan last year, and Arsenal reportedly have an option to turn the deal into a permanent one for around €40 million, which many believe they don’t have the finances to do at the moment. The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly caused a lot of clubs to change their plans regarding transfers, and it’s expected will be seeing a lot more loans and swap deals than outright contract purchases.

Arsenal confident of Ceballos loan extension amid season uncertainty 0

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are confident that they will be able to extend the loan deal for Dani Ceballos past the date agreed for its expiration – June 30th.

The game has been completely suspended across Europe and at the moment, it’s hard to foresee when or how the 2019/20 season will end. In England, the suspension is currently set to last until the end of April at the earliest, and the Premier League clubs are scheduled to hold a meeting early next month to discuss the possibility of a ‘best-case scenario’ – the season being continued sometime in the middle of May. If that proves doable, the goal will be to finish the campaign before the end of June, but there is still a strong possibility of league games being played well into the summer.

Ceballos on his time with Arsenal 0

Dani Ceballos, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid on a season-long loan last summer, gave an interview to Spanish newspaper Marca recently and spoke mostly about his time with Arsenal.

It hasn’t been going very well for the midfielder in North London. He started seven of the opening 11 Premier League games and was introduced from the bench in the other four, before suffering a torn muscle bundle which kept him out of action for the following nine. He returned to the bench for the win over Manchester United on New Year’s Day, and he hasn’t played since.

Transfers: Arsenal step up Boateng interest; Arteta adamant Aubameyang isn’t leaving 0

Recent reports credited Arsenal with Bayern Munich’s out-of-favour defender Jerome Boateng. It’s certainly a rumour that makes sense, given Arsenal’s need for a quality centre-back after serious knee injury ruled Calum Chambers out for the rest of the season.

When asked about it, Bayern interim head coach Hansi Flick said he maintains regular contact with the 31-year-old former Germany international, and that departure hasn’t been discussed between them. But on the other hand, Sky Sports believe the Bavarians would be willing to part with the player for as little as €15 million (£12.8m).

Ceballos doesn’t want Madrid return 0

After the failed loan switch of Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Arsenal’s decision not to trigger the option to buy that had been inserted in that deal, the Gunners closed the deal on similar terms with Real Madrid and brought in Dani Ceballos for 2019/20. The only difference is, that apparently at the request of the player himself, no such option has been included this time as the midfielder had plans to return to Madrid and fight for a place in the Santiago Bernabeu sun.

Arsenal lose penalty shootout to Real Madrid 0

Arsenal’s tour of the United States, in terms of what has happened on the pitch, has been an overwhelming success. The Gunners have been able to string together a series of nice victories, which included a somewhat surprising win over Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. However, they were unable to stay unbeaten as they brought their tour to an end, losing out to Real Madrid in a thoroughly entertaining penalty shootout in Maryland.

Arsenal’s tour of the United States is starting to wind down now, and up to this point, things have gone pretty well. They’ve put together a series of nice wins, which has served as something of a confidence booster for the club. Sure, things could be going a bit better in the summer transfer window, but it still feels like there is some time for the club to rectify any lingering issues that may be present in that department.

Deals for Ceballos and Saliba “close” 0

As reported by Sky Sports, Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Real Madrid to sign Dani Ceballos on loan.

Arsenal’s fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in taking the young midfielder to north London on a permanent basis, but apparently, a temporary move to Arsenal suits both Real and the player better. Los Blancos are keen on keeping the prospect of Ceballos playing for them again in the future alive following his excellent displays at the U-21 European Championship this year, while Ceballos feels he would have more first-team opportunities at the Emirates than at Spurs, and he also feels he may yet have a future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The intrigue of Dani Ceballos 0

We’re back with another rumour that is lingering around the Emirates like a bad smell, because you know, it’s transfer window season and that’s just what happens. This one really does seem to be a bit of a stretch, but hey, that’s the way of the game. The ‘rumour’ that we’re referring to links the Gunners to Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who is said to be very interested in a move away from the club – but only on loan.
