Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently admitted the squad under his command was ‘short’, and speaking to the press ahead of the Wolverhampton Wanderers clash on Saturday evening at the Molineux, he repeated the stance that the club would be in the transfer market in January for reinforcement, should the right players become available.

According to recent reports, the positions the boss aims to add depth to are attacking flanks and centre midfield.

Hector Bellerin is set to return to Arsenal after his loan with Real Betis expires at the end of the season, according to La Liga club president Angel Haro.

“Hector is a fanatic player and a very good person,” Haro said (via Goal.com). “It was a loan that we had from Arsenal, now he returns to Arsenal and from then on, we’ll see.

“It is true that he has been very caught up in everything about Betis because, in addition, his parents are Betis fans. Hopefully we cross paths again.”

They say football is a funny game and they also say confidence is everything.

For someone like Hector Bellerin that couldn’t be more accurate, with the 27-year-old really struggling to get to grips with any kind of consistency in Arsenal’s starting line-up over the last few years. As a result of his issues, he was sent out on loan to Real Betis in an attempt to recapture some of his lost form.

The fact that Betis are currently sitting fifth in La Liga is a testament to how solid the squad has been so far this season but beyond that, their major highlight came over the weekend as they beat Valencia to win the Copa del Rey trophy.

Hector Bellerin has revealed that he would be open to joining Real Betis on a permanent deal once his loan from Arsenal expires.

The Spaniard joined at the age of 16, which is now a decade ago. Having passed through the Under-18 and Under-23 sides, he earned a place in the first team squad in 2014 and has made a total of 239 appearances since, with nine goals and 29 assists from the right defensive flank, while playing under three different managers.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Real Betis over a loan move for Hector Bellerin, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The 26-year-old right-back has been keen to leave the club for a while now. He was first linked with Paris Saint-Germain, then Inter Milan as PSG signed Achraf Hakimi, but it seems he’ll be spending the rest of the 2021-22 in his homeland instead. The deal between the two clubs does not include an option for the La Liga side to make the switch permanent.

According to the Daily Star, La Liga outfit Real Betis have targeted Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as their new head coach. Reportedly, the Andalusian’s had offered the job to Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez. However, the former Real Madrid boss rejected the offer, as talks continue between the Spaniard and the north east club.

Benitez is in in-demand after steadying the Newcastle ship on a limited budget. It seems that Betis are now looking at Henry as a successor to Quique Seiten, who rather bizarrely lost his job at the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal and Manchester City are showing an interest in Real Betis full-back Junior Firpo.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the team from Seville this season in La Liga and recently scored in his teams 4-3 win at reigning Spanish champions Barcelona.

Reportedly, his form has not gone unnoticed at some of Europe’s top clubs. Now Arsenal and City are now ready to make a move.

Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is hoping to stay at Real Betis ‘for many years’ although he acknowledges such a decision is not his to make.

Costa Rica international sealed a season-long loan deal with the La Liga side on transfer deadline day last August although it looked as if he could finally be given a chance to shine at the Emirates.

The 25-year-old played for Sporting Lisbon last season and it’s now looking increasingly likely that he won’t be returning to Arsenal in the future.

Arsenal has a habit of signing young Spanish talent in the past think Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin. Well according to Spanish publication Fichajes, the Gunners could be ready to make a move for another Spaniard in Real Betis youngster Dani Ceballos.

Reportedly Arsenal were trailing Ceballos last summer, but he decided to stay with the Seville-based club. The 19-year-old has been in fine form this season making 17 first appearances and the Gunners are once again being linked with move for the youngster.
