Arsenal linked with Joao Moutinho move 0

According to the Metro, Monaco are set to allow Portuguese playmaker Joao Moutinho leave this summer. The midfielder has previously been linked with a move to north London by other tabloids, despite the fact that the Gunners seem to be overflowing with players in his position.

Moutinho still has three-years left on his £110,000 per-week contract and Monaco are attempting to reduce their spending, as they have already allowed Colombian striker Radamel Falcao join Chelsea on a season-long loan deal to cut costs.

Arsenal set for second raid on Chelsea 0

The Daily Express claims that Petr Cech maybe not be the only Chelsea player heading for Arsenal this summer, as the Gunners are being linked with a £8.5million bid for highly-rated young winger Charly Musonda, whose father played for Zambia and enjoyed a career in the Belgian top-flight.

Musonda is regarded as a bright prospect at Chelsea, who signed the Belgian back in 2012 from Anderlecht. However, the Blues are believed to be having doubts about the youngster’s physical presence.

Despite the concerns it is being reported that the Blues are keener on a loan deal, with the possibility of a permanent deal at the end of it.

Arsenal drawn against Bradford or Reading in the FA Cup 0

Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday night has restored the Gunners to favourites at odds of 5/6 to win the competition.

Ironic

It was slightly ironic that former-Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck came back to haunt the Red Devils. The England international has not been in the best of goalscoring form, but he has spent much of the campaign playing on the wing.

He started the game at Old Trafford as a central striker and Arsene Wenger’s faith was repaid with the crucial winning goal. Welbeck will no doubt be satisfied with getting one over his old. However, he probably endured mixed emotions about beating his former club.

Arsenal again linked with Porto striker 1

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal could be set to launch a big money move for FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez this summer. This comes after the Portuguese clubs president admitted that the prolific Colombian will be allowed to leave this summer.

Leaving

Porto president Pinto da Costa reportedly said ‘Jackson almost left last summer but we agreed he’d stay one more year. If somebody pays [his value] he will go.’

Martinez has reportedly been a target for Arsenal for the last couple of seasons and seemingly gets linked with a move to north London whenever a transfer window opens. Maybe this summer the striker will actually move on and Arsenal seems a realistic destination.

Louis van Gaal facing selection problems ahead of Arsenal clash 0

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has moved to suggest that he is unlikely to make major changes to his starting line-up for the Arsenal game even if a number of first team players should be back in contention.

The Red Devils have encountered all sorts of selection issues in the opening exchanges, with the Dutch coach forced to play his footballers out of position as well as throw some youngsters into action much sooner than predicted.

This has been one of the reasons why United’s results have not been up to the standard, and the Old Trafford outfit now face a potentially tricky away game against fellow strugglers Arsenal.

Is Radamel Falcao the answer to Arsenal’s striker problems? 0

Yesterday’s 1-1 draw at newly-promoted Leicester illustrated Arsenal’s need for a new striker. Young striker Yaya Sanogo broke a Premier League record against the Foxes by failing to score despite having seven shots on goal.

Open

Arsenal looked in need of a top class striker this summer, even before Giroud picked-up a long-term injury. Now the Gunners are even more in need of a new striker. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club is open to signing a striker.

AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao could join Arsenal on loan 0

According to various sources, AS Monaco and Colombia striker Radamel Falcao has told Arsenal he would be willing to join them on a loan deal, if Real Madrid don’t look to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.

With Real winger Angel Di Maria having been sold to Manchester United for £60M, the La Liga side have the funds to procure Falcao’s signature, but it’s unknown if they will make a bid.

The 28-year-old is said to be up for loan this season, but the Ligue One side reportedly want £20M to cover wages and bonuses. With Arsenal having lost striker Olivier Giroud with what appears to be a suspected broken ankle, the Londoners are looking at stellar attacking replacements.

Arsenal linked with a move for Real Madrid striker 0

Arsenal are being linked with a renewed move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. The Daily Express claim that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a fresh £27million bid for the France international.

Interest

The 25-year-old has long been a transfer target for the Gunners. In fact Arsenal were believed to be interested in signing the striker prior to his move to Real Madrid from Lyon. However, Benzema chose to move to the Bernabeu in a deal worth around £30million.

Wenger heaps praise on Diego Costa 2

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reserved special praise for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, which could suggest the Gunners are thinking about luring the Brazilian to the Emirates.

Speaking about this year’s Champions League title contenders, the Frenchman has touted Atletico Madrid as possible surprise package and revealed his admiration for striker Diego Costa.

“For me, Atletico Madrid can be a surprise package: they can do the same as Borussia Dortmund did last year. Even if they have lost Falcao, they have a good defence and a very good goal keeper,” Wenger wrote in his Eurosport blog.
