Surely Wenger needs to sign a new striker now 0

Instead of celebrating the impressive FA Cup triumph over arch rivals Tottenham, Arsenal fans were devastated by the news that Theo Walcott will miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.

The injury came at the worst possible time for both the player and his employers as the England international had just returned from an abdominal problem and put in several very good performances in the centre forward role.

Even if his composure in front of goal was far from perfect, Walcott made several excellent runs behind Spurs defenders at the Emirates, proving that he can perform really well in a more central role.

Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic has been linked with a move to top-of-the-table Arsenal, as Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski looks set to be Munich’s first-choice striker as of next season – after having signed on a free transfer. However, the Bavarian club have said Mandzukic isn’t for sale despite the pending addition in attack.

This season, the 27-year old has scored 10 goals from 16 league games – four of which were from the bench. He joined the club from Wolfsburg in 2012, and has been a regular in the starting lineup ever since.
