Gunners reportedly snubbed by left-back target 0

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal’s reported transfer target Nicolas Tagliafico has decided to remain at Champions League semi-finalists Ajax for another season.

The Argentinian international had previously been linked with a move to north London. However, it seems he is happy in the Dutch capital, for now anyway.

Gunners need a left-back this summer

Arsenal are on the lookout for a new left-back with Nacho Monreal expected to exit as a free agent this summer. Sead Kolasinac has played in the position on a regular basis for the Gunners, but the former Schalke star is better suited to play as a wing-back.

Arsenal recorded a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to make it to the final of the EFL Cup.

Chelsea dominated the early proceedings with Tiemoue Bakayoko seeing a shot deflect wide of David Ospina’s goal. Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses also flashed a long-range effort well wide of goal.

The Blues thought they had the lead on five minutes, as Spanish winger Pedro scored with a powerful header. However, the referee’s assistant flagged for offside and replays proved that the decision was the correct one.

Arsenal and reigning Premier League champions Chelsea drew 2-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The first attempt on goal arrived on seven minutes and fell for the home side. Alexis Sanchez hit a free-kick from around 25 yards out that deflected wide of by the Chelsea wall.

At the other end of the pitch, Rob Holding blocked an Eden Hazard shot, as the Blues looked to hit the Gunners on the break. The visitors missed a fantastic chance on 13 minutes.

Chelsea recorded a 3-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, as the Gunners fell further behind their London rivals in the Premier League table.

Arsenal had the first chance of the game on just two minutes. Mesut Ozil capitalised on a mistake from David Luiz and found Alex Iwobi, who from the edge of the saw an effort deflect just wide of goal.

On 11 minutes Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill saw a header bounce over the bar from a wide free-kick. The Blues took the lead on 13 minutes. Pedro’s cross was bulleted against the bar by Diego Costa’s head, only for Blues wing-back Marcos Alonso to head home the rebound.
