Posted on April 05, 2018 by Harry Kettle

While there’s plenty to be stressed out about if you’re an Arsenal fan in 2018, it’s always worth remembering that there have been some good times celebrated by the club in years gone by. We’ve seen trophies being lifted, last minute goals being scored, and a whole lot of victories over Tottenham Hotspur.

With that being said, it’s also interesting to take a look at the club’s recent history in order to analyse how far they’ve come in the span of twelve months. So then, let’s take a short trip down memory lane to April 5th, 2017 when Arsene Wenger led his Arsenal side to their first victory in over a month against London rivals West Ham United.

There are plenty of rumours surrounding players from around the world potentially coming to Arsenal, but none will strike a chord as much as this story involving Cesc Fabregas. Apparently, according to the man himself, he’d consider returning to the Emirates as a coach once his playing days are over – and while that’s all well and good, we’d be curious to see whether or not he’d entertain the idea of something more.

Arsenal Football Club has come under intense criticism of late for underpaying their staff while at the same time spending millions of pounds on player wages.

While the highest paid footballers at the club are earning more than £100,000 per week, the Gunners have yet to agree to pay its staff such as cleaners and caterers the London Living Wage.

The amount, currently standing at £8.80 per hour, has been calculated as the minimum wage required to sustain an acceptable standard of living in the England capital. Over 550 companies have already adopted the living wage policy, but Arsenal have yet to jump on the bandwagon.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has been ruled out of action for up to 10 weeks – after coming off just after half-time in Arsenal‘s 2-0 victory against Fenerbahce in the Champions League.

Upon initial inspection, it had appeared to be a simple hamstring strain, which would take him 3 weeks to recover from. However, it’s far worse than previously estimated, and the German international could be waiting until December until he plays for Arsenal again.

Polodolski double sees past the Cottagers

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski grabbed a brace in a impressive 3-1 victory over local rivals Fulham.

The Gunners could finally put the opening day defeat to Aston Villa behind them with a very convincing and dominating performance on a wet Craven Cottage.

They took the lead through French striker Olivier Giroud, who found himself on the end of a mis-hit shot to cleverly chip over the advancing Fulham ‘keeper David Stockdale.

Left-sided forward Lukas Podolski doubled Arsenal’s lead before half-time with a side-footed effort through a crowded penalty area after Theo Walcott’s shot was initially saved.
