There have been rumours lately that Arsenal are in talks about a potential move for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they seek to boost their midfield ranks. However, Fabrizio Romano has shot them down.

“Despite reports to the contrary, I’m told there were no talks for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Arsenal in the summer,” the Italian transfer expert told Caught Offside. “We will see what happens in the future but in January it’s going to be really difficult to see him leaving Lazio.”

Arsenal to battle Spurs for Thomas Strakosha 0

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to battle it out with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the services of goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha of Lazio.

According to Italian outlet Il Messaggero, the pair of north London clubs have been informed that the Serie A side would cost no less than €50 million. That may seem a little steep given the reports of Arsenal’s rather limited transfer funds for this summer, but if the Gunners aim to sign any quality option to challenge Bernd Leno for the No. 1 spot, they will have to come to terms with the prices on the current market.

It seems that Spanish striker Lucas Perez could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis this summer. Perez spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, who suffered relegation to the Spanish Segunda.

In truth, Perez failed to impress at the club where he first made his name. He has little chance of staying with the north London club, especially with the exit of veteran Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

In-demand elsewhere

According to his agent Rodrigo Fernandez, Italian club Lazio wants to sign Perez this summer. Fernandez is reported to have said: “Lazio asked for him last year, but nothing came of it.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are set to battle it out with Chelsea and Italian club Lazio for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.

The Mirror got their information from Turkish publication Aksam, who believe that the three clubs are competing for the highly-rated Turkey international.

Calhanoglu has reportedly been a transfer target for the Gunners for the last few seasons and has a minimum fee released clause in his contract of £32.5million.

Arsenal join chase for Rennes forward 0

French international Paul-Georges Ntep has drawn plenty of attention from some of the Europe’s top clubs this season and is widely expected to leave the Ligue 1 side Rennes once the transfer window reopens in January.

The 24-year-old Cameroon-born winger’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season which puts Rennes into a tight spot as they do not have little choice but to sell their prized asset in order to avoid losing him on free transfer next summer.

Ntep is not short of suitors as the two-cap French international is a target for several clubs in Italy and England.

Gunners joint-best performing team in Europe 1

As we all know Arsenal have been in superb form of late. The Gunners are in fact rated as the joint-best team from any of the top five European leagues, having won their last seven consecutive games.

Best

Only Serie A side Lazio have taken the same amount of points as the Gunners in the same period. However, the Italian side have a goal difference that is three better than the Gunners, so technically they are above the Gunners in the form charts.

The Gunners league form puts them above the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and even current Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal linked with move for Argentinian midfielder 0

Arsenal could press ahead with a move for Argentinian defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia this summer according to the Metro. The 29-year-old is currently plying his trade in Serie A with Lazio and is reportedly available for £18million in the summer.

Agreed

According to reports from Italy, Biglia’s agent has made an agreement with Lazio that his client will be allowed to leave the eternal city if any club comes in with a bid of £18million. That seems a lot of money for a player of his age.

Lazio’s Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti Rules Out a Move to Arsenal 1

Posted on July 06, 2013 by Crippy Cooke

Following reports of Arsenal enquiring for Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti this summer, the 30-year old has played down any interest.

‘I know nothing about Arsenal. I’m having a holiday and only thinking about relaxing.’

After signing for Lazio in 2011, the Italian international has since established himself as a consistent goalkeeper in Serie A. Arsenal approached the veteran a number of years ago when Marchetti was at Cagliari – a bid of £5.5M was said to have been turned down.

During his time in Italy, he’s represented his country on nine occasions. While making 47 appearances in all competitions for Lazio this season, he led his side to the 2013 Coppa Italia.
