London club Arsenal are prepared to let promising defender Krystian Bielik on loan during the winter transfer window, English media have reported.

The 19-year-old joined Gunners from Legia Warsaw in 2015 for a fee around £2.5 million but has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Arsenal first team. Bielik did, however, managed two cup appearances for the club.

The Polish centre-back who can also fill in a defensive midfielder role spent the second part of the last season on loan at Birmingham City and is once again set to be shipped out during winter with Arsene Wenger keen to aid his development by allowing him to gain regular first-team football away from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal midfielder Krystian Bielik revealed how playing centre-back is improving his defensive game, and believes the tips he’s learning from the coaches will hold him in good stead as he looks to forge a long career at the Emirates.

The Poland U17 international joined the club in January, and has since been with the development squad ever since. He could well be a future option as a holding midfielder, and revealed the work undertaken to improve his physical attributes.

The transfer deadline day came and went, and as expected Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger decided to keep his powder dry and was not tempted into any last minute deals. The Gunners were not expected to do any business on deadline day, after Wenger stated that he was not expecting to sign anybody prior to the deadline.


The Gunners went into the January transfer window needing a centre-back and a defensive midfielder. In the end the Gunners ended up with both, but maybe not the ones that people expected.

Arsenal Football Club have wrapped up the first deal of the winter transfer window having completed the signing of Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.

The 17-year-old has become the club’s first signing of the January window, but he is unlikely to be the last as the Gunners continue the search for a central defender and holding midfielder.

Arsenal announced the news on club’s official website, stating that Bielik is capable of playing in holding midfield and at centre-back, although the youngster is unlikely to feature for the senior side between now and the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are set to complete the signing of young Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik in next few days. The fee for the youngster is likely to be around £2million, after Gunners representatives flew to Poland to negotiate a deal on Wednesday.


Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the youngster and it is believed that the Gunners had a bid of around £1.6million for the midfielder rejected earlier this month. It seems that an improved offer for the 17-year-old could be enough to sign the player.

Media reports in Poland are suggesting that Premier League giants Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik from from Legia Warsaw.

The 16-year-old recently visited the Premiership side with his parents as he was given tour of the training ground and facilities and it seems that the youngster and his family have been convinced by the Gunners officials.

It remains to be seen whether Bielik will join Arsenal in January or at the end of the season, but it has been reported that he will be earning around £2,000 per week in North London, which is a huge pay rise to his current £125 per week salary.
