Arsenal owners respond to takeover rumours 0

Following the failed attempt at forming a breakaway ‘European Super League’, of which Arsenal were a part, there were (and still are) many club supporters who want Stan and Josh Kroenke, the owners, gone from the club. Further more, reports broke of Daniel Ek, a co-founder of Spotify, leading a group preparing a bid to buy Arsenal off the Kroenkes.

The current owners felt the need to react and clarify their position in this matter.

“In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,” their statement read. “We remain 100% committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the club. We have not received any offer and would not entertain any offer.

Josh Kroenke, the son of Arsenal owner Stan, spoke to the club’s fans on a forum on Thursday, and offered what was described as a ‘groveling apology’ over everything that has happened in the last several days relating to the failed ‘European Super League’ project. Angry at the official apology from the club being signed by “The Arsenal Board”, the supporters were keen for either of the Kroenkes to address them directly.

Arsenal have officially confirmed they’ve parted ways with Unai Emery.

“Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and demand. We wish Unai and his team nothing but future success”, Josh Kroenke said, speaking on behalf of the Arsenal board and the club owners Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.

Kroenke went on to explain that the decision, which appeared imminent after the home defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday, as the consequence of the results as well as the performances not being on the level expected.

According to a report by the Express, Arsenal are set to get tough with players who refuse to sign new deals with the club. Director Josh Kroenke, Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham and director of football Raul Sanllehi spoke to Gunners fans about the club’s future, as one of my colleagues earlier reported.

Kroenke reportedly stated that the club will change its stance on selling players who are near the end of their contracts. He stated that the club will no longer allow players to leave on free transfers and will do more to protect their assets.

Arsenal director Josh Kroenke met with fans and expressed his belief that the club can achieve long-term success, according to the Mirror.

The son of the billionaire Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke spoke with supporters groups about winning trophies and upholding club values, but he conceded that the trust of the fans, shaken in recent seasons, will have to be earned once more.

Kroenke junior spent a lot of time in London recently, and the idea of organizing a meeting with the fans for the first time ever apart from the club’s Annual General Meeting came to him as he flew in to see Arsenal play Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday.
