Arsenal were defeated by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening by 3-1 with young Konstantinos Mavropanos was sent off in the 15th minute, and although the result means absolutely nothing point-wise, it would have been nice if it could have ended otherwise.
This was the game before last with Arsene Wenger in charge of the team, and the players will have a chance of sending the long-enduring manager off with a better result when they meet Huddersfield on Sunday. David Wagner’s men endured a strong test at Stamford Bridge in midweek. They got away with a single point that guarantees their Premier League survival, all but ending Chelsea’s hopes of a top-four finish. With Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the last year of his contract at the club, the Londoners are seeking out replacements when their long-serving coach finally departs. As for top-level managers who would likely be unattached next summer, as well as fitting the Arsenal mould, there are few options available. But Germany manager Joachim Loew could be the answer.
The 56-year-old has been in charge of the German national team since 2006, and boasts an impressive record well worth considering. He’s reached the final of Euro 2008, the semi-final of the 2010 World Cup, the semi-final of Euro 2012 and won the 2014 World Cup.
