According to the Metro, Arsenal could be set to do battle with Premier League rivals Chelsea for Brazilian international striker Gabriel Barbosa known as ‘Gabigol’.

The highly-rated South American star was linked with a number of moves in the summer, including to Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

However, he moved to Italian club Inter for £26million from Santos. Things have not worked out for the Brazilian youngster in Milan, as the striker has made just one substitute appearance for the Nerazzurri.

New Inter boss Stefan Pioli is reportedly considering allowing the youngster leave the club on loan in January.

Arsenal on the trail of Italian wonderkid 0

According to the Metro, Arsenal are interested in signing highly-rated young Sassuolo striker Domenico Bernardi this summer.

The 20-year-old is currently co-owned by the Serie A minnows and reigning champions Juventus, but it seems that Italian champions are unlikely to exercise their right to sign the youngster. Bernardi has never actually appeared for Juventus and spent the last three seasons with the Neroverdi.

The Gunners could sign the highly-rated striker for a fee in the region of £11million, as co-ownership is being abolished as of the summer transfer window in Italy. That means if Juventus do not exercise their right to sign the striker this summer, then Sassuolo can sell the striker to whoever they wish.

Could Mattia Destro be a good addition to the Arsenal attack? 0

With Arsenal have lost their first-choice striker Olivier Giroud until 2015, the Londoners should be looking at bringing in a replacement. While manager Arsene Wenger is adamant his squad have more than enough attacking options, AS Roma forward Mattia Destro should be on his radar.

Last season, the 23-year-old scored 13 goals in 15 starts, his best goal-to-game ratio to date. But that wasn’t what is so impressive about this striker. He was one of the most deadly finishers in world football in 2013/14, scoring with 34% of all his shots taken.

What’s going on with the Balotelli rumours? 1

While Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looked to be content with his attacking options for this season, the rumours of Balotelli joining the London side are not going away.

He represented Italy in this summer’s World Cup, but had a poor tournament that his club president (of AC Milan) revealed would hamper his chances of a move.

Mario Balotelli is still currently 3/10 to join Arsenal this summer, but his valuation is said to be in excess of £20M, while requesting wages amounting to over £5M a year before tax, according to various sources.

Balotelli’s agent dismisses exit talk amid Arsenal links 0

Mario Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, has recently ruled out any talks having undergone between his client and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger this summer, despite various reports suggesting the AC Milan striker was close to signing for the Gunners after falling out of love with the Serie A club.

“Mario has a contract with Milan, the club called me and he is non-transferable,” said Mino Raiola. “I have not been in Brazil and I have never met Wenger.”

While Arsenal are in the market for attacking options, Wenger will want value for money. Balotelli does boast a good goal record for club and country, but he’s very inconsistent and his discipline has long been questioned too.

What role will Joel Campbell play at Arsenal next season? 3

Arsenal fans will be excited to see their young forward Joel Campbell do so well at the World Cup with Costa Rica. He terrorised the defences of Italy and Uruguay, before producing a quieter performance against England in the last group game.

The youngster who celebrates his 22nd birthday tomorrow has shown just what he can do against top opposition at the World Cup. His pace and power are two attributes that should serve him well in the Premier League, if as expected the Gunners give him a chance in the first team next season.

Arsenal not signing AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli this summer 1

Despite Arsenal being 4/6 to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, manager Arsene Wenger has recently ruled out wanting the Italian international.

When asked if there’s any truth to the rumours linking the former Manchester City man with a move to the Emirates, Wenger said: “No — no, that’s pure invention. We cannot believe absolutely everything that is on the internet or is in newspapers. It’s not true.”

Arsenal are in the market for attacking options, as they were the lowest scorers in the top-four in 2013/14. They were previously linked with former player Carlos Vela and his Real Sociedad teammate Antoine Griezmann , but have opted against signing either player.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is meeting with Mario Balotelli’s agent in Brazil to discuss the possibility of a deal being done between the Gunners and AC Milan this summer.

In a deal apparently worth around £150K-a-week, the Italian international, who is currently with Italy in the World Cup, is keen on a return to the Premier League. Chelsea were said to be his preferred destination, but with them having signed Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, Balotelli wouldn’t be guaranteed first-team football.

Mario or Mario: Who should Arsenal sign? 1

The Daily Mirror is reporting on the future of two reported Arsenal targets today. They claim that Bayern Munich and Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic could be set to snub a move to north London and return to former club Wolfsburg this summer.

The Mirror also reports that the Gunners could sign AC Milan and Italy striker Mario Balotelli for £29.5million this summer.

Mandzukic has a prolific scoring record in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and more recently Bayern Munich. The striker scored a brace in Croatia’s 4-0 World Cup victory over Cameroon in Group A. The 28-year-old missed the opening game against hosts Brazil and was greatly missed.

Balotelli rumours not going away at present 0

While many dismissed the rumours linking AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli to a move to Arsenal this summer, the rumours still will not go away. Matters have been made worse following Balotelli’s agent stirring the pot by complimenting Arsenal are failing to rule out a move there.

“Arsenal is a fantastic club and anything is possible,“ he said to Sky Sports News.

The Italian international is 6/4 to join Arsenal this summer. It would certainly be a shock considering his reported £20M transfer fee, but there’s no doubt he’d be a big asset to the club.
