AC Milan are interested in signing Jonathan Ikone from Lille, according to reports in Italy. Apparently, the 23-year-old Frenchman, who prefers to play on the right attacking flank but can do well in any role supporting a striker, is being considered as a good candidate to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, whose contract with the Rossoneri is about expire. Many now believe that Calhanoglu is indeed on his way out of San Siro, and there is reported interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea in bringing the 56-cap Turkey international to London.
Arsenal recorded a 3-1 win over AC Milan on Thursday night in the Europa League last 16 second leg, to win the tie 5-1 on aggregate.
The visitors came close to enjoying a dream start within the first minute, but Andre Silva’s effort from Fabio Borini’s cross was off-target. On five minutes, the Gunners had their first sight of goal, as defender Laurent Koscielny headed over from Henrik Mkhitaryan’s corner kick.
The Gunners experienced an injury blow on 11 minutes, as Koscielny sustained an injury and Calum Chambers replaced the French international. Milan ‘keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was called into action on 26 minutes, as the youngster did well to keep out a near-post effort from Danny Welbeck.
According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are set to battle it out with Chelsea and Italian club Lazio for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.
The Mirror got their information from Turkish publication Aksam, who believe that the three clubs are competing for the highly-rated Turkey international.
Calhanoglu has reportedly been a transfer target for the Gunners for the last few seasons and has a minimum fee released clause in his contract of £32.5million.
