Arsenal have reportedly entered the race for Brazilian talent Endrick Felipe. The other contestants for the signature of the 16-year-old include Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Endrick currently plays for Palmeiras, where he rose through the academy ranks, and having earned first-team promotion this summer, the young striker has so far only played twice at senior level. He is yet to score a goal, but playing for the Under-20s, he scored six in seven matches and he’s obviously rated very highly.

It’s hard to believe that Highbury is now just a distant memory for many Arsenal fans, with some not even having any real memory of the historic stadium. Nowadays the Emirates is the natural home for the Gunners, and that journey first began back in 2006.

On that day, Arsenal went toe to toe with Aston Villa in their first competitive game on the hallowed turf. The work Mikel Arteta has done since taking over as Arsenal head coach has shown signs of progress, and speaking to the Daily Mail, fellow former midfielder Gilberto Silva believes the boss will do ‘good work’ for the club.

Having arrived to Highbury directly from Brazil in 2002, Silva made a total of 170 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring on every 10th appearance on average. He was a part of the legendary “Invincibles” team, which won the Premier League title in 2003/04 without a single defeat to earn the name. Further more, he played at the base of midfield, just like Arteta himself.

Brazilian midfielder Gilberto Silva has revealed that he has been offered an opportunity to return to the Emirates once he hangs up his boots, although he has failed to disclose in what capacity.

The 38-year-old still hopes to continue his playing career as he is finally ready to return from a difficult knee injury. The veteran footballer spent last year on the sidelines after he was released from his contract at Atletico Mineiro.

Silva now reveals he has used the break to start doing his coaching badges and basically prepare for life after football, while hinting that he could even return to Arsenal in the near future.
