Real Madrid maintain Gabriel Jesus interest? 0

Real Madrid were reportedly interested in signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City prior to his arrival to Arsenal but gave it up due to an alleged problem with his passport. However, latest rumours on the subject claim the 14-time European champions are continuing to monitor the Brazilian striker as he shines in an Arsenal shirt.

Apparently, Carlo Ancelotti, who openly ruled out any signings for his club in the January window, has made a list of five players he wants to see in his ranks in the near future. Jesus is on that list, as are Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, young Palmeiras striker Endrick (only 16), Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez and 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie.

Gabriel Jesus plays “with a smile” at Arsenal 0

Arsenal paid around £45 million to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City this summer, and while the Gunners’ need for a player of such characteristics and class was utterly obvious to everyone, some have questioned the player’s reasons for leaving the Premier League champions, where trophies are practically a certainty each season, for a rebuilding side. Jesus himself answered those questions in a recent interview with ESPN Brasil.

“The thing was the way [Guardiola] understands football and what he wanted,” the striker said.

Arsenal expect busy January 0

Arsenal top the Premier League table after eight matches played, with a one-point advantage over defending champions Manchester City. As rightly pointed out by James McNicholas in his article for The Athletic, the Gunners do not need to actually win the league to be successful this season; a place in the top four would do just fine.

Mikel Arteta’s team are obviously looking extremely well at the moment, but the increasingly congested fixture list that awaits from this point on does raise one or two questions.

Gabriel Jesus wins August Player of the Month 0

We always knew that Gabriel Jesus was going to be someone who could make waves after coming over from Manchester City and thus far, that’s exactly what he’s done. The Brazilian clearly felt like he had a point to prove upon arrival and with three goals and three assists across the month of August, he wanted to make sure he got off to the proper start.

The 25-year-old is the kind of player who never stops running for the ball and as long as he’s situated in the starting XI, the Gunners faithful should feel very confident about their chances at success between now and May.

Jamie O’Hara admits: Gabriel Jesus – best summer signing 0

Jamie O’Hara is known as a fierce Tottenham Hotspur supporter these days, which obviously doesn’t make him a popular figure when it comes to the Arsenal faithful. It should be said, however, that the 36-year-old actually rose through the Academy ranks at Arsenal, before joining the neighbours in 2005.

But his recent words may not be to the liking of other Spurs supporters, as he named Arsenal’s move for Gabriel Jesus the best deal of this summer. It’s not very hard to see why, if club affinities are put aside for a moment. The Brazilian striker has four goal involvements – two goals and two assists – in two Premier League matches for the Gunners so far, and he’s played a very important role in both victories.

Gabriel to Gabriel: “Come to Arsenal!” 0

Given how desperate Arsenal’s need to reinforce their striker options going into the summer transfer window was, it came as a huge relief when Gabriel Jesus agreed to leave Manchester City and follow Mikel Arteta on the path from the Etihad to the Emirates, and that on back of Eddie Nketiah finally agreeing to stay put.

Naturally, most of the credit for the deal being wrapped up deservedly went to Arteta and technical director Edu, but Gabriel Magalhaes has (albeit jokingly) revealed that he himself may have had a hand in the business.

Let’s talk about Zinchenko and Jesus 0

Arsenal were able to get their Premier League campaign off to a winning start on Friday night as they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park. While there were plenty of takeaways from the game and the victory, we’d say two of the biggest were two of the club’s biggest acquisitions so far during the summer transfer window – Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners have needed to bring in players with a winning mentality for a while now and if that isn’t what we’ve got here with Zinchenko and Jesus, then we’ll never see it.

Jesus scores two against Nurnberg 0

It’s always worth taking pre-season friendlies with a pinch of salt, especially when two of the goals for Arsenal are from own goals as was the case against Nurnberg – but it’s also worth noting that this performance against the German side ended in a 5-3 comeback win that showed off some fun new wrinkles to the club’s game.

Mohamed Elneny managed to get on the scoresheet but the real highlight of the day comes from Gabriel Jesus scoring twice, once in each half, in what proved to be a really composed and entertaining performance.

Jesus deal shows Arsenal transfer strategy improvement 0

Arsenal have completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for a reported fee of £45 million. There have been opinions expressed recently that it was a deal far too expensive, that the Gunners overpaid for a player who wasn’t even a regular starter at his now former club.

Such statements actually point to one of two possibilities. Either they come from people with extremely limited views, unable to compute various factors that make this a very good deal for Arsenal, or they’re simply made with the aim of sparking controversy and pointless debates for engagement on social media.

We’re starting the week with some good news.

Arsenal have finally completed and confirmed the long-awaited signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. The 56-cap Brazil international has signed a contract set to keep him at the Emirates for five years, and Gunners will be parting with a sum of £45 million for his services.

Since joining the Premier League champions in January 2017, Jesus scored 95 goals and produced 46 assists in 236 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s team, where he had the opportunity to find out what it’s like working with Mikel Arteta.
