There have been rumours lately that Arsenal are in talks about a potential move for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they seek to boost their midfield ranks. However, Fabrizio Romano has shot them down.

“Despite reports to the contrary, I’m told there were no talks for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Arsenal in the summer,” the Italian transfer expert told Caught Offside. “We will see what happens in the future but in January it’s going to be really difficult to see him leaving Lazio.”

Fabrizio Romano talks Reiss Nelson, Houssem Aouar 0

It’s been a long time since Arsenal were linked with Houssem Aouar of Olympique Lyon, hasn’t it?

The 24-year-old (it feels like yesterday when we wrote about him as a 22-year-old) was indeed on Arsenal’s wish list in the past by all accounts, but the acquisition of Martin Odegaard on a permanent transfer from Real Madrid seemed to have put a stop to those stories for a while. Now, however, Aouar is in the final season of contract at Lyon, and it’s only natural for all sorts of rumours to be popping up, including the revival of those involving Arsenal.

Fabrizio Romano: Interest in Edu and Saka, both focused on Arsenal 0

Fabrizio Romano has put out an interesting new video where he talks about certain rumours and behind-the-scenes discussions involving Arsenal. The two topics the Italian transfer specialist covers there are technical director Edu and, unsurprisingly, Bukayo Saka.

The Gunners appointed their former midfielder into the role in July, 2019, in a very difficult moment. His first real task was to try and make sense of the situation that was the work of the trio of Ivan Gazidis, Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi, and steer the club in the right direction from thereon. Arsenal had just lost the Europa League final to Chelsea and their hopes of returning to the Champions League were dashed, and a couple of months later, Unai Emery was sacked and Mikel Arteta appointed.

Agent Marcelo Pettinati, who represents Gabriel Jesus, has revealed the reported talks with Arsenal over a potential transfer of the Brazil international have indeed taken place, and that a move to the Emirates is a genuine possibility currently being discussed with the project unfolding at the club considered appealing. However, the Gunners obviously aren’t the only interested club with a player of such quality available in the market.

Meanwhile, Jesus himself remains focused on the remaining matches of the season and the prospect of winning the Premier League title again with Manchester City after they suffered a shocking Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid in the semifinals.

Arsenal wanted top striker signing in January 0

Posted on February 12, 2022 by Veselin Trajkovic

Arsenal tried to sign a striker in January, that much is clear having been reported far and wide by every journalist in the game. It’s also clear that they failed in that plan, and Fabrizio Romano has explained that the most important aspect of their intention was for the potential target to be considered a top player. The club were simply not going to spend money on a player about which they weren’t absolutely convinced.
