Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong remains an attractive subject for Arsenal supporters, despite the fact he never quite lived up to his billing.

The 25-year-old Ghana international earned himself a somewhat ‘legendary’ status with Arsenal faithful with his DENCH catchphrase – which was even written on the back of his shirt at Arsenal Tula – and social media antics that made him a community star, much larger and brighter one than he has ever been in football regard.

A football nomad of sort who was loaned out to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Fulham during his time at Arsenal, made a short-lived move to Barnsley in 2014, before heading east to FC Ufa.

“Said it and will say it again we need a F****** centre back with Laurent a bloody DMF and a bloody striker,” Frimpong wrote via his official Twitter account.

However, Emmanuel Frimpong has been limited to bench warming for the senior side, and just one appearance for the development team this season – he also failed to feature in any capacity during the side’s Capital One Cup game.

The 21-year old has only made 16 appearances in total since making his debut in 2011 – after having been at the club since 2001.
