Emiliano Martinez has left Arsenal and joined Aston Villa, it has been officially confirmed by both clubs.
The 28-year-old Argentinian joined Arsenal reserves 10 years ago, but most of his time on the club’s books was spent on numerous loans. Last summer, he returned from his temporary spell at Reading to act as the first deputy to regular number one choice Bernd Leno, and when the German injured his ligaments in a clash with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay on June 25, he finally got a proper chance to show what he can do. .......Read more here.....

With several weeks of the transfer window left to run, transfer reports and rumours are still coming thick. Let’s look at what is being said about the Gunners.
Emiliano Martinez to join Aston Villa
When Bernd Leno picked up an injury in the unexpected defeat away to Brighton and Hove Albion last season, Emiliano Martinez stepped in and did a wonderful job between the posts. He was so good that some suggested that head coach Mikel Arteta should have given serious consideration to making him his number one choice ahead of Leno, but that was never likely to happen. .......Read more here.....

Emiliano Martinez, who stood between the posts at Anfield in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool, said the team were desperate to win the tie for Granit Xhaka.
The captain is currently under great strain following the incident on Sunday, when he reacted angrily and most inappropriately to being booed and whistled off the pitch by the Arsenal fans, by putting his hand to his ear in a provocative manner and telling them to f*** off. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has joined Spanish La Liga side Getafe on a season-long loan, the Gunners have confirmed.
The Argentina shot-stopper looked set to become second-choice to Petr Cech with David Ospina linked with a move to Turkey. But the latter has made a U-turn and wants to stay, meaning Martinez has been loaned out for regular playing time.

Arsenal’s hopes of securing Champions League football for next season took a heavy blow as they went down to a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The home side had the first attempt on goal after just three minutes. A good team move eventually saw the ball fall for Yohan Cabaye, who got his shot horribly wrong and the Frenchman’s effort went wide of Emiliano Martinez’s goal.
It was Palace who offered the next threat on goal too, as midfielder Luka Milivojevic fired just wide of Martinez near post. The Gunners hit back on nine minutes. The ball fell to Mohamed Elneny who curled an effort towards the far corner of the net, only for Wayne Hennessey to produce a fantastic save. .......Read more here.....

Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez could start between the sticks against Lincoln City in Saturday afternoon’s FA Cup quarter-final clash, with second-choice David Ospina an injury doubt. The Colombian international reportedly had a minor problem after the midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich and has exacerbated the issue since.
Martinez has been used sparingly this season, featuring only in the EFL Cup, so drafting him in would be a gamble. Despite Lincoln being a Conference side, they’ve shown they’re more than a most for any side in the FA Cup on their day, dispatching of the likes of Ipswich Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley in the third round, fourth round and last-16 respectively. .......Read more here.....

Reports have surfaced that Arsenal are set to hold talks with Besiktas over Colombian ‘keeper David Ospina or so Turkish news outlet Takvim claims anyway. Arsenal are believed to be looking for £3.5million for Ospina, but could sell the ‘keeper for less as he seeks first team football elsewhere.
He has been linked with a move to Turkish football before, but it seems he could now actually finally leave north London this summer.

Arsenal number three ‘keeper Emiliano Martinez looks set to join Championship side Wolves on a season-long loan deal. The 23-year-old is highly-rated by the north London club, but he is being sent out to gain valuable first team experience in the second tier of English football.
The youngster is unlikely to see much first team action at the Emirates with Czech Republic international Petr Cech and Colombian number one blocking his way to the number one jersey at Arsenal.
The competition was so fierce that even former-Gunners number one Wojciech Szczesny had to leave on a season-long loan deal in attempt to play regular football this season. .......Read more here.....

According to the Metro and Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are set to make a move for veteran Italian ‘keeper Marco Amelia.
The 33-year-old is currently plying his trade with AC Milan and told the media: ‘Arsenal? I signed a confidentiality agreement, so I cannot say anything,’
‘I’m still young for a goalie, I’m 33 years old and who knows in the future.’
The move would be a strange for Arsenal to make, as boss Arsene Wenger already has three international ‘keepers at his disposal in Petr Cech, David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny. .......Read more here.....

The Daily Mail are reporting that Arsenal will have to move fast to sign Chelsea keeper Petr Cech this summer. However, my question would be does Arsenal really need another keeper.
It is widely expected that Petr Cech will leave Stamford Bridge this summer for a fee mooted as £10million, after Belgium international Thibaut Courtois displaced him as Chelsea number one this season.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has always maintained he does not want the 32-year-old to leave the club, but Cech is likely to leave in search of more regular first team football for next season. Whether Mourinho would sanction the move to a team that could rival the Blues next season for the Premier League title remains to be seen. .......Read more here.....
