Fulham v Arsenal Premier League Preview 0

Posted on October 06, 2018 by David Nugent

On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal makes the short trip to face London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottagers in the Premier League.

Fulham have enjoyed a mixed start to their return to the Premier League. However, the Cottagers have picked up just five points from their first seven league games this season.

A 3-0 defeat at Everton last time out means that Slavisa Jokanovic’s team have now failed to win in their last four top-flight games, picking up two draws and suffering two defeats. The home side has struggled defensively this season, conceding at least two goals in six of their first seven league games.

Arsenal v Aston Villa Premier League Preview 0

Arsenal hosts rock-bottom Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as the Gunners look to record a win in their efforts to finish the campaign as Premier League runners-up.

Arsene Wenger’s side will kick-off this game two points behind arch-rivals Tottenham, who currently occupy second. Spurs’ last game of the campaign is away at relegated Newcastle. Due to a better goal difference a point in the north east would ensure Mauricio Pochettino’s side finish second.

The Gunners head into this clash on the back of a 2-2 draw at Manchester City last time out. City took the lead through Sergio Aguero, but the lead lasted just two minutes as Olivier Giroud headed home an equaliser.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Arsene Wenger will fulfil his contract at the Emirates and then leave in the summer of 2017. The French boss has come in for a lot of criticism this season, including from myself for the Gunners failings this season.

Will leave next summer

Former-Arsenal striker Wright speaking on BT Sport stated: “I think that it will run its natural course. In 2017 he will probably leave.

“We saw another couple of banners [against West Ham]. When you see the season we’ve had – in the way that this season’s gone – the fans and everybody will be disappointed.”
