Olivier Giroud may need to leave Arsenal to save his career 0

As my one of my colleagues wrote earlier today, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is a reported transfer target of Chelsea, if the Blues fail to sign Roma’s Edin Dzeko.

The 31-year-old had previously been linked with a move to Dortmund as part of a deal for BVB striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. However, according to Sky Sports, the French forward will not be moving to the German giants this month.

Struggle for playing time

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that nobody will leave if nobody comes in. The French veteran also admitted that he wanted Giroud to stay at the club. However, you get the feeling that if the Gunners struck a deal for Aubameyang, then Giroud would be surplus to requirements.

French forward Olivier Giroud has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Premier League champions Chelsea who continue their desperate search for reinforcements in their attack line.

Blues have been in lockdown with negotiations over AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko and, according to reports coming from Daily Mail, Antonio Conte is drawing up a contingency plan should the Bosnian forward reject a chance to move to Stamford Bridge.

The 31-year-old Olivier Giroud has been widely linked with a move away from Arsenal and will have his faith sealed once the Gunners wrap up a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Would Edin Dzeko have been worth signing for Arsenal? 1

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has recently joined AS Roma on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer, with the Bosnia-Herzegovina international not being deemed good enough for the title-chasing Sky Blues this campaign. But given the 29-year-old has scored the second-most Premier League goals since his 2011 move, would he have been a useful attacking addition for Arsenal?

The Gunners have Olivier Giroud as their only central striker, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck all playing out wide much more than they have in a central role, regardless of manager Arsene Wenger’s insistence that they can cover for the Frenchman as makeshift strikers.

Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic will miss his country’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Moldova through a hamstring injury, Montenegro boss Branko Brnovic has revealed.

The 24-year-old picked up the injury in training while on international duty and he will not be able to help his country in their opening fixture of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

As a result, he is also rated doubtful for the Arsenal v Manchester City Premier League clash where the Gunners are 15/8 to claim maximum points.

Arsenal came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with fellow top four side Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

The visitors made a bright start to the contest and on ten minutes had the first effort on goal. Spanish winger Jesus Navas fired well wide and high from the edge of the penalty area. The Gunners had a claim for a penalty turned down on 11 minutes.

Tomas Rosicky tumbled in the Manchester City box under a challenge from Pablo Zabaleta. However, referee Mike Dean waved away appeals for a spot-kick. On 17 minutes City midfielder Samir Nasri saw an effort palmed down by Wojciech Szczesny.

Could Bosnian be the answer to Arsenal’s striking problems? 0

As we know Arsenal are looking to recruit an extra striker in January. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be scouring the world and European transfer markets for the ideal target.

According to goal.com, the answer could lie in a certain Bosnian striker at Manchester City named Edin Dzeko.

Dzeko has had a mercurial career at City so far. The Bosnian international has spent much of the last few seasons sitting on the City bench, waiting to be summoned to rescue the Citizens, when they are in need of a goal.
