As we all know today is transfer deadline day. There is sure to be major movement around the country and Europe on the transfer front. According to differing reports, Arsenal have either sign Denis Suarez or are close to signing the Spaniard on-loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

It seems like a shrewd move, while the Gunners are also reportedly attempting to sign Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco from Chinese club Dalian Yifang. The Gunners were also recently linked with a move for Inter winger Ivan Perisic.

It seems that it is far more likely that there will exits from Arsenal rather than signings on transfer deadline day of the 2018 summer window. There has been talk of the Gunners signing Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, mainly on a loan deal. However, it seems that the deal is unlikely to happen, with just a few hours left until the deadline of 5 PM.

Players who could leave

Arsenal has plenty of players who are considered surplus to requirements. Spanish striker Lucas Perez has signed for West Ham for a fee of around £5million. The 29-year-old struggled for first-team football since his 2016 arrival from Deportivo La Coruna.

Transfer Deadline Day is finally upon us, and this year, that means that the season is very close to being upon us, too. It’s been a long and incredible summer, especially for English football fans, and now it’s time to get things underway once again. As expected on transfer deadline day, stories involving Arsenal players are doing the rounds. One of the main stories surrounds Chilean star Alexis Sanchez. According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are not interested in selling the former Barcelona star to Manchester City in a cash only deal.

Reports suggest that Arsenal were interested in doing a deal with the Citizens that involved England international winger Raheem Sterling. However, the noises coming out of Manchester suggest that City boss Pep Guardiola is unwilling to allow the former Liverpool star to leave before the deadline.

Even the most optimistic of Arsenal fans have serious doubts as to whether Arsene Wenger will manage to strengthen the playing squad in the final hours of the summer transfer window, and they have every right to feel aggrieved by the lack of transfer business.

At a time when the Gunners have scored mere three goals in four Premier League fixtures, with Giroud and Walcott notching one goal between them, the manager should be fighting tooth and nail to recruit a high-quality centre forward.

The transfer deadline day came and went, and as expected Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger decided to keep his powder dry and was not tempted into any last minute deals. The Gunners were not expected to do any business on deadline day, after Wenger stated that he was not expecting to sign anybody prior to the deadline.

The Gunners went into the January transfer window needing a centre-back and a defensive midfielder. In the end the Gunners ended up with both, but maybe not the ones that people expected.

Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger pulled off the shock coup of deadline day in signing Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil.

The German attacking midfielder, 24, signed for the Gunners in a deal said to be worth around £42.4M (€50M).

Last season, Ozil made 16 assists in 32 La Liga games – scoring nine goals. He’s regarded as one of the top-5 playmakers in the world, and many are stunned how Arsenal managed to procure the signature of a genuine world-class player.

Supporters are rejoicing that manager Arsene Wenger has finally spent big to strengthen the side, and they are now licking their lips in anticipation to see Ozil in action for Arsenal.
