According to multiple sources, Willian has reached an agreement with Corinthians and is not set to join the Brazilian side as a free agent, with Arsenal more than happy to cut him loose without compensation two years before his contract would have expired.
The experienced winger arrived to the Emirates from Chelsea last year as a player of notable pedigree and a reputation of a proven winner. He had won the Premier League title twice at Stamford Bridge, along with one FA Cup and one League Cup. He was also named Chelse’s Player of the Year twice, in 2015-16 and 2017-18. Arsenal have reached an agreement with Fiorentina about the proposed transfer of Lucas Torreira, according to multiple sources.
The 25-year-old joined the Gunners in 2018 from Sampdoria, and though he did play an important role in the team under Unai Emery, he never had a proper place in the plans of Mikel Arteta, even though his contract at the Emirates has two years left to run. Arsenal are said to have approached Brazil powerhouse Corinthians over the availability of midfield starlet Maycon.
Gunners have kept a close watch of the talented 20-year-old over the past couple of seasons and are said to be dead set on making a summer move for the Corinthians standout as part of their ongoing squad overhaul.

Various reports are suggesting Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lost patience with injured forwards Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott, and is looking for a new centre-forward to compete directly with Olivier Giroud for a starting place in the second-half of the season. The Sunday Express is claiming that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be planning a £10million swoop for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato. The former-AC Milan star returned to his homeland in January after enjoying rather mixed fortunes in Serie A with the Rossoneri.
Wenger’s hunt for support for French striker Olivier Giroud, who is now 14/1 to win the Premier League’s golden boot, has now widen to South America. Pato is a completely different player to some of the other players linked with a January move to the Emirates though.
