Hector Bellerin will be a big loss to Arsenal 0

Arsenal are waiting on news of the severity of the injury picked up by Hector Bellerin in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea. The full-back went down holding his knee and the fears are that the injury is a serious one that will sideline him until at least the end of the season.

Bellerin is due to have a scan which will tell the north London club more about the injury and how long he will be sidelined. The 23-year-old had only just returned to the team after injury.

Arsenal currently have seven players on their injured list, and they’ve provided an update on their recovery progress via the official website. The season has entered it’s part when the schedule is jam-packed, and having as many players available as possible will be of vital importance for manager Unai Emery.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan injured his right ankle in Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League opener last Thursday. Having missed the Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday, he is currently being assessed ahead of the Carabao Cup game against Championship side Brentford on Wednesday.

It seems that it is far more likely that there will exits from Arsenal rather than signings on transfer deadline day of the 2018 summer window. There has been talk of the Gunners signing Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, mainly on a loan deal. However, it seems that the deal is unlikely to happen, with just a few hours left until the deadline of 5 PM.

Players who could leave

Arsenal has plenty of players who are considered surplus to requirements. Spanish striker Lucas Perez has signed for West Ham for a fee of around £5million. The 29-year-old struggled for first-team football since his 2016 arrival from Deportivo La Coruna.

Championship Birmingham City have completed season-long loan deals for Arsenal full-backs Cohen Bramall and Carl Jenkinson. The pair could both make their Blues debut against Bournemouth on Tuesday night in the League Cup against Bournemouth.

Jenkinson has fallen out-of-favour in north London in recent times. The 25-year-old had spent a season and a half on-loan at West Ham before injury curtailed his time in east London.

The full-back always seemed likely to exit the club this summer. However, a move to a Premier League club seemed more likely than a move to a second-tier outfit.

According to the Mirror, Swansea City are considering an approach for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson ahead of the new season, with manager Paul Clement reportedly keen on the 25-year-old. Arsenal are keen to sell given the right-back is surplus to requirements but City might only be prepared for a loan move.

Jenkinson has hardly featured for Arsenal in recent seasons, instead being loaned out to West Ham United for two campaigns and almost being sold to Crystal Palace. The English international has been sitting on his contract it seems and hasn’t been too fussed about not featuring the first-team.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson in the subject of interest from Swansea City and newly-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion. The 25-year-old has been subsidiary at the Emirates Stadium for some time and has been available for transfer for 12 months. Manager Arsene Wenger is keen to get him off the wage bill.

Jenkinson made just five appearances for the first-team in all competitions last season, amounting to 254 minutes of playing time. Crystal Palace were keen to provide him a chance at redemption, but the right-back rejected their terms. This summer could see him finally make the move away from Arsenal, however, after being stuck in football limbo for some time.

According to the Express, Arsenal right-backs Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy have been put up for sale. The Gunners are likely to accept most bids coming their way to have the pair off the wage bill ahead of the new season, but there’s currently a lack of interest.

Jenkinson was previously set to sign for Crystal Palace until the deal broke down due to a failure to agree personal terms. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger intimated the former Charlton man requested more money than Palace were willing to offer. Jenkinson could run his contract down at the club and leave on a free next summer.

Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson has been reduced to making appearances for the reserve side in the Premier League 2 this season, featuring more times for the U23s (6 appearance) than he has for the first-team (5 appearances in all competitions).

Manager Arsene Wenger froze out the former Charlton Athletic man after Jenkinson failed to agree personal terms with Crystal Palace when the Eagles tried to sign him this season, and he’s expected to be up for sale this summer or released at the end of his deal in 2018 otherwise.

The Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson has been negotiating a move with Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce throughout the January transfer window, and with less than 48 until the window closes Jenkinson’s move to Selhurst Park is off.

Arsenal defender had been given the green light to negotiate a deal with Crystal Palace, but has failed to agree personal terms and will remain in Arsene Wenger’s team until the end of the current campaign as it seems.

Jenkinson was left disappointed by Crystal Palace who are reported to have pulled the plug on a deal.
