Arsenal suffer defeat at Bournemouth 0

On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth to fall further behind in the race for top-four spots. The big news prior to the game was Alexis Sanchez being omitted from the Gunners squad with speculation that he may be close to a move away from the north London club.

Bournemouth had the first attempt of the game on four minutes. Charlie Daniels cross from the left fell for Adam Smith of the edge of the area and the full-back pulled his effort just past Petr Cech’s left-hand post.

Arsenal scored three goals in the last 20 minutes to draw 3-3 with ten men Bournemouth on Tuesday night in a pulsating encounter.

Bournemouth had the first effort of the game on seven minutes, as Joshua King dragged a shot wide of Petr Cech’s goal from long-range. The home side continued to press and Junior Stanislas fired an effort straight at Cech on ten minutes.

The Cherries had a penalty claim on 12 minutes, as King went down under a challenge from Arsenal goalkeeper Cech. However, referee Michael Oliver waved appeals for a penalty kick.

Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as Alexis Sanchez grabbed a brace.

The first real chance on goal fell to the home side on two minutes. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain found Mesut Ozil on the penalty spot and the German fired an effort towards goal, only for Nathan Ake to make a superb headed block.

On nine minutes, Mohamed Elneny saw another effort on goal blocked by Ake. The Gunners took the lead on 12 minutes. Cherries defender Steve Cook received the ball from his goalkeeper and attempted to play the ball back to him. However the ball was short and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez seized on the ball before keeping his composure and firing past Adam Federici.
