Highly-rated Bayern Munich and Austria star David Alaba has been talking about his childhood love of Arsenal. An interview given to German publication Bild has led to speculation linking the 26-year-old with a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Talked about Spain and England

In his interview with Bild, Alaba said: “I can imagine trying something else but I really feel very comfortable at Bayern.

“Every year there a new challenges and new objectives and the pressure will always be there. I’m happy in Munich but of course, I can imagine seeing something else. Spain, England. In Spain it would be the two big clubs, I guess? Real or Barcelona. Also the big clubs [in England].”

Fresh off the back of Arsenal being linked with Spanish youngster Dani Ceballos, the Gunners are now being linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka by German publication Bild and ESPN.

The highly-rated Swiss midfielder could leave the German club this summer. Monchengladbach Sporting director Max Eberl told radio station WDR2: “I know that Granit will definitely not leave us now, I can influence that. But I don’t know what will happen in the summer.

“There are always situations a club has to give consideration to. It depends on our sporting success, it depends on the performance of Granit.

According to Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, the Gunners can win the Premier League this season. Sunday’s 3-0 win over Manchester United put Arsene Wenger’s team just two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Speaking on international duty Ozil told Bild: “We have a great team with many world-class players. Our goal is to win the Premier League and I think that this season it’s possible to do it, if we all stay healthy. But the season is long.”

Koln’s German striker Lukas Podolski has just agreed a deal with the Gunners acording to German newspapers and he’s going to make the complete his move to Arsenal when the summer transfer window is opened again.

For the moment Lukas still has to shrug off an injury and then he must still play for Koln for a while, but his wishes to join a Champions League playing side are now reality after supposedly agreeing with a team which he spoke very highly about.
