Aubameyang ‘postpones contract talks’ 0

Posted on November 21, 2019 by Veselin Trajkovic

According to a report by Sport, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has put the talks over a new contract with Arsenal on hold until he finds out how serious the reported interest in his services from Barcelona is.

Admittedly, the Spanish media are far from reliable when it comes to stories such as this one, so it has to be taken with a pinch of salt, but given the situation Arsenal seem to be in at the moment, it does unfortunately make some sense. There were always fears that unless the team improves as a unit and better results start coming soon, those members who do their job properly (and Aubameyang is certainly one of them) would start looking at other clubs.

Aubameyang targeted by Barcelona? 0

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerged as a potential target for Barcelona next summer, according to reports in Spain.

Luis Suarez, who almost joined Arsenal back in 2013 before he led Liverpool’s ultimately doomed title chase the following season and moved to Barcelona afterwards, has turned 32 and his form isn’t what it used to be. Injuries have also started creeping in on the controversial Uruguayan, and it seems the end of his bliss is very near. Naturally, they will be aware of that at the Catalan club, and various reports have been linking them with a host of strikers that would perhaps be able to replace him. They still haven’t signed such a player, and El Chiriguito now claim they have started looking at Aubemayang.

Coutinho seems unrealistic 0

There are so many question marks still surrounding Arsenal and who they’re going to sign and when they’re going to sign them. With just a matter of days remaining in the summer transfer window, though, it feels like the time for talk is kind of over. It’s all about action now, because if the Gunners can’t resolve some of their defensive issues before the game against Newcastle, then we could have some problems on our hands.

Suarez haunts Arsenal once again 0

One of the players that has been most heavily linked with Arsenal, for both good and bad reasons, in the last few years is Luis Suarez. The former Liverpool star was not only a pain to play against during his time at Anfield, but he was also linked with the possibility of a switch to the Emirates at one stage. Of course, due to the £1 ordeal that caused a great deal of embarrassment on both sides, it never quite came to fruition.

Umtiti linked as Laurent Koscielny’s replacement at Arsenal 0

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal veteran French centre-back Laurent Koscielny could exit the club this summer. The 33-year-old has just a year left on his contract and reportedly the Gunners could sell the defender if he does not sign a new deal this summer.

The same report also claims that the Gunners could target Barcelona’s French centre-back Samuel Umtiti as his compatriot’s replacement.

Koscielny’s future in doubt

When Koscielny is fit the experienced centre-back is Arsenal best defender. However, there have been doubts over the Frenchman’s future at the club since last summer, when he was reportedly considering his future.

Lacazette to Barcelona? 0

The days have started to tick by in the aftermath of Arsenal’s Premier League season coming to an end, and while the Europa League final is still to come, it’s been interesting to look back and reflect on the campaign. There were highs and there were probably even more lows, but along the way, we’ve been able to pick up on a few really entertaining ‘points’ if you will.

Arsenal set to lose out to Spurs for Barcelona flop 0

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal look set to miss out on signing Barcelona flop Malcom this summer, with the winger now expected to join north London rivals Tottenham instead.

The Express story claims that the youngster has chosen to join Spurs ahead of the Gunners this summer. If he does join Tottenham, he will be their first signing since Lucas Moura joined from PSG in the January transfer window of 2018.

Malcom has struggled to nail down at a starting spot with the Blaugrana, who are looking to revamp their squad this summer after more Champions League disappointment.

A look back to Paris 2006 0

Arsenal are into the UEFA Europa League final, and while it may not exactly be the Champions League, it’s nice to say that the club can get excited about a match of this magnitude again. Despite the fact they can still mathematically get back into the Champions League via the top four, let’s be honest, it would take a miracle for that to happen on the final day. With that being the case, it’s going to be full steam ahead for the Gunners as they prepare for a big night in the club’s recent history in Baku.

Barcelona eye Lacazette 0

Barcelona are still looking for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan, who tore up the Premier League defences in 2013/14 with Liverpool with 31 goals to his name but had no problem celebrating scoring against them earlier this week, is 32 years old now, and though he is still a remarkable player, the Catalans must prepare for the future without him. The same applies to their superstar captain, Lionel Messi.

Barcelona tried to bring in Luka Jović. The Serbian youngster has been on fire this season for Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Benfica, a move that has recently been made permanent. However, the deal stalled and fell through apparently, and Real Madrid now reportedly have a deal in place to snap the 21-year-old striker up.

Denis Suarez confirms the end of his season 0

Arsenal’s Barcelona loanee Denis Suarez has confirmed that a groin injury will mean that he will not play again for the Gunners this season. It will also most probably mean that the midfielder will not play for Arsenal again.

Struggled to make an impact at Arsenal

Suarez has struggled to make an impact in north London since a January loan switch from Barcelona. Reportedly the Spaniard has cost the Gunners £3.2million in wages and signing-on fee, yet never started for the club. In fact, he has made just over an hour’s worth of football in the Premier League for Arsenal.
