As we all now know Arsenal have decided to realise French striker Yaya Sanogo this summer. The 24-year-olds contract expires this summer and he leaves having made very little impact at the north London club, except for a few bright pre-seasons run-outs.

Always out of his depth at Arsenal

Once of the first articles I ever wrote for My Arsenal Blog (in 2014 I think) was about whether Yaya Sanogo would ever make it at Arsenal. I got a so much abuse for the article, but at the time, I saw a player that just never looked like making it at the top level, even if he was a youngster.

Young Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has asked Gunners fans to be patient with him and that the goals will come once he scores his first one. The 21-year-old has failed to score in 16 competitive appearances for the Gunners. I am sure he has said a similar thing before.

Sanogo has struggled for first team appearances this season, making just two Premier League appearances. Since the arrival of England international Danny Welbeck from Manchester United, Sanogo has not even made an appearance for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s young French striker Yaya Sanogo has vowed to prove his critics wrong and believes the goals will flow once he finds his first goal. The 21-year-old has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

The youngster has now made 17 appearances for the Gunners since arriving from French club Auxerre last summer on a free transfer. He has yet to find the net for the club from north London, which has led to doubts over whether he can make it at Arsenal.

Arsenal defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup fifth round yesterday at the Emirates Stadium. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger rested a number of key players ahead of his teams crucial last 16 Champions League clash with European champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday, a game in which Arsenal are odds of 4/1 to win.

Making so many changes looked like a gamble by Wenger, especially resting French striker Olivier Giroud and playing his rookie compatriot Yaya Sanogo. In truth, the youngster did well against two experienced centre-backs in Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel.

Arsenal’s young summer signing Yaya Sanogo has recently admitted that he must toughen up if he is going to be a success in the Premier League. The 20-year-old has made just two substitute appearances this season for the Gunners since his arrival on a free transfer from Auxerre this summer on a free transfer.

The youngster has looked rather lightweight and will have to improve his physique, as well as toughening up if he is going to be a success at Arsenal. Sanogo is highly-rated in his home country and has impressed for France’s under-21 team, but made just 22 appearances for Auxerre in his senior career.

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign young French striker Yaya Sanogo from French club Auxerre. Arsenal have been linked with lots of players already in the last few weeks but the deal for Sanogo is the only one that Wenger has commented on himself.

Wenger admits that the deal is in it’s final stages and it is very likely that there will be a new French striker at the club next season.

Sanogo was hailed as one of the world’s future stars when he was young because of the way he dominated the youth leagues and even the international youth competitions with his unmatched scoring records and ability.
