AS Monaco are interested in signing Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira on loan for the second half of the season, according to Sky Sports.

The midfielder is already temporarily away from the Emirates, on a season-long stint with Atletico Madrid, but having had only two La Liga starts for far, Arsenal are concerned about his welfare in the Spanish capital.

Technical director Edu recently voiced those concerns.

“Arsenal is concerned about Torreira, his happiness, that he plays and that he is well. We want to know about him how he feels and, later, of course, know what Atletico thinks.

Premier League giants Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar who has been a subject of three separate bids from the north London club.

AS Monaco have lost several key first-team players this summer already and could end up losing both Lemar and Mbappe before the summer transfer window closes despite their stance that some players would be sold and others won’t.

Having already sanctioned the moves of Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko among others, AS Monaco will find it hard to keep the two aforementioned stars against their will.

Arsenal could end up missing out on their summer target Thomas Lemar with AS Monaco vice-president claiming the exciting 21-year-old is one of the players that will not be sold this summer at any costs.

The North London club have been linked with a move for the £50 million rated AS Monaco forward over the past couple of weeks with Arsene Wenger hoping to make the French star his third summer signing.

Having already recruited defender Sead Kolasinac and striker Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal boss is expected to make a couple of more signings in order to build a competitive squad that would compete for domestic honours next season.

Arsenal have been linked with AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar all summer but haven’t managed to agree on a price with the club or personal terms with the player. And now, with the club losing so many of last season’s standout performers, the chance of signing another in Lemar is getting slimmer by the minute.

Nevertheless, the Gunners aren’t going to give up on the 21-year-old this summer, according to the Daily Star, and could lodge a bid up to £55m to procure his signature. Lemar scored and created 19 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games last season, helping Monaco to the Ligue 1 title and Champions League semi-final.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied making a world record bid for AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, insisting to that the French international will stay at the Stade Louis II next season.

When asked if Mbappe would stay, he replied: “It looks like that. Maybe he had too much choice, so in the end people don’t move.” And after being asked about the reported world record bid made by Arsenal, Wenger said: “That’s not true. People have big imaginations.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal could lose out on Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, with AS Roma reportedly keen on his signature. City manager Craig Shakespeare recently revealed there had been no offer for the Algerian, with Arsenal putting their focus on Monaco’s Thomas Lemar this summer.

Arsene Wenger’s side have had two bids rejected for the 21-year-old and are believed to be preparing a third bid up to £50m. If Arsenal are successful in signing Lemar, they aren’t going to approach Mahrez. Roma, however, do want the latter as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who joined Liverpool.

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger faced media on Tuesday morning shortly after arriving in Australia on a pre-season tour.

the French tactician addressed a number of topics in his press conference but the media were most interested in finding out if the Gunner will be making any further signings this summer.

According to Goal, AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar is still happy to stay at the Stade Louis II if his deal to join Arsenal falls through. It’s believed the 21-year-old won’t force a move away from Monaco should the two clubs not agree a deal.

Arsenal have had a first bid rejected and have since made a second offer. But reports suggested Monaco wouldn’t sell any more players given Bernardo Silva’s departure and Tiemoué Bakayoko’s potential Chelsea move. The Gunners could miss out on Lemar this summer as a result.
