It seems like Adrien Rabiot is the name on everyone’s lips across European football, and for good reason. The 23 year old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain for what feels like forever, and now, a parade of different cubs are believed to be interested in signing him. While Barcelona are said to be in the driving seat it certainly seems like it could be anyone’s ball game, which could open the door for Unai Emery to swoop in and make an offer.

Arsenal and PSG clash at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night in a game that could decide the winners of Group A of the Champions League.

Arsenal head into this game on the back of two 1-1 draws in the Premier League, but are well positioned at the top of the group. A victory in this clash would mean that the Gunners would win the group by virtue of a better head-to-head record.

A goalless draw would still leave the north London team top, but then they would have to at least equal PSG’s result in the final match of the group.

Speaking ahead of the crunch tie with title rivals Manchester City, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has all but confirmed his plans to reinforce the squad over the winter, although that obviously doesn’t have to mean anything when the Frenchman is concerned.

The reality is that the Gunners have enjoyed one of the best starts to a league campaign in recent years, with only red-hot Leicester City currently in front of them in the standings, but numerous injuries to star players are creating problems at the moment.

The Gunners transfer rumour mill has kicked into full gear. According French media outlet Buzzsport Arsenal are again chasing the signature of highly-rated young PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The news of January interest in the 20-year-old comes after the Gunners were linked with linked with a £10million move for Crystal Palace’s James McArthur. I think it is fair to say that Rabiot is more exciting prospect than the Scot.

Rabiot is highly-rated in European football circles, but due to PSG’s big spending has been unable to command a regular starting spot in the Parisians line-up.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is very careful with the north London clubs money and the only senior signing of the summer has been ‘keeper Petr Cech from Chelsea. It seemed unlikely that the Czech Republic international would be the Gunners sole signings, even with Wenger’s record of cautious spending.

“If I give you the number of strikers I have at the moment it’s absolutely unbelievable. We have Yaya Sanogo, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski and Giroud who will come back during the season and I forget maybe one or two.

French Ligue One champions Paris Saint-Germain were recently in trouble for their poor money management, earning a disciplinary from UEFA for breaking FFP rules. And it seems the club have a lot of competition for places that is sure to cause unrest in 2014/15, so could Arsenal do them favour this summer?

One player linked with the Gunners has been young midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The talented 19-year-old only made 12 league starts for PSG in 2013/14 nad faces a very difficult task to get game time when PSG’s midfield includes Yohan Cabaye, Thiago Motta, Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi.
