According to Liverpool Echo, Adam Lallana is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. That’s when his contract expires, and a decision has been reached that there wouldn’t be any talks about a new deal.

Lallana left Southampton as an attacking midfielder and joined Liverpool back in 2014, when the Merseysiders were under the command of current Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers. The current Leicester City boss deployed him in that role too, as did Jurgen Klopp upon his arrival. But as the German too charge of his first full season at the club, he changed his formation to 4-3-3 and Lallana played most of the 2016/17 as a box-to-box runner, where he was extremely efficient. He was a crucial part of the team which managed to fight their way back to the Champions League at the end of that season, at the expense of none other than Arsenal.

Two Arsenal players appeared in England’s 1-0 friendly win over Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday night. In truth it was an underwhelming display by the Three Lions and the game was only won by a superb piece of individual skill from Southampton substitute Adam Lallana, who set up Daniel Sturridge for the only goal of the game.

The two Gunners players on display for England were midfield pair Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Neither did their cause for a place in the Three Lions World Cup much good.

The home side started the game in a bright manner. The Saints had the first real chance of the game on just five minutes. Midfielder Adam Lallana was left completely unmarked from a corner, but the England international saw his header cleared away. On seven minutes full-back Luke Shaw crossed from the left and young Saints striker Sam Gallagher fired wide of the near post.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere made a good run and produced a superb effort from a tight angle, which went over Artur Boruc in the Saints goal, only for it to rebound off the post. On 14 minutes Boruc rushed out of his goal to prevent Giroud getting on the end of a Mesut Ozil through ball.
