Smith Rowe earns first England call-up
There are many defining moments in a player’s career that they’ll look back on forever, and one of them is when you’re called up for international duty for the first time. It serves as proof that, in the eyes of the national team manager, you’re one of the very best in the game from your home country.
We already knew that Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka would be taking part in England’s international festivities in the next few weeks and now, through a twist of fate, Emile Smith Rowe will also be part of the equation.
At the age of just 21, Smith Rowe is already beginning to showcase the kind of maturity that everyone wants to see from a player like him. He’s willing to learn, open to criticism, and he’s easily been one of Arsenal’s stand-out players across the last few months.
When the club got off to such a bad start in the Premier League with three losses from three, nobody really knew where to turn. As it turns out, Mikel Arteta was the man with the answers all along.
He decided to find the perfect balance between youth and experience. Emile Smith Rowe, of course, falls into the former of those two categories, but the way in which he plays would have you believing he’s a 10-year veteran.
This is a fully deserved call-up and we hope to see Smith Rowe get some time on the pitch against Albania or San Marino.
