There is plenty going on at Arsenal concerning transfers at the moment. The club have already confirmed the signings of left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht, and are reportedly working on several other deals at the moment. There are also things happening regarding players who could leave the Emirates, and Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has provided updates on several accounts.
The deal for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White has been agreed in principle, though there are reportedly a few things left to be thrashed out still. Be that as it may, the 23-year-old is supposed to undergo his medical ahead of the move to North London next week, as he is currently on holiday following his involvement with the national squad at the Euros. As Sheth puts it, it’s a matter of when, and not if.
Arsenal are still looking to sign a second-choice goalkeeper and have been linked with Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale. There has been no direct contact between the two clubs as of yet, but there has been contact through intermediaries, which means the Blades have now been informed of the interest from the Gunners. The interest first appeared after Mat Ryan decided not to continue his spell at the Emirates and to go elsewhere in search of a guaranteed place between the posts. The Australian has now joined Real Sociedad.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed the Nerazzurri’s interest in Hector Bellerin, as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi who Inter to join Paris Saint-Germain. Bellerin is apparently keen on the move and will not agree to even discuss a new contract with Arsenal, with his current one expiring in 2023.
As for Granit Xhaka, his move to AS Roma doesn’t seem as close to realization as it has been made out. The talks are ongoing and progressing, but there is still a significant difference between what Arsenal want for his services and what Roma are offering to pay.
We’ll do our best to keep you informed on any developments.
