Arsene Wenger has decided to recall Serge Gnabry from West Brom after the highly rated German failed to make a big impact on the Premier League with Tony Pulis’ team.
Gnabry signed for the Baggies last August, but was never given a chance during five months with the club and was restricted to just 12 minutes of league football.
Talented 20-year-old winger broke into the Arsenal fold in the 2013/14 season and was regarded as one of the most promising young footballer in European football.
Arsene Wenger took the opportunity to send his player on the Premier League loan so that Gnabry could gain valuable first-team experience before returning to the Emirates, but Tony Pulis chose not to use the Arsenal academy player.
“Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn’t been for me, at the moment, at that level to play the games.”
“He’s come from academy football and not played much league football. Does academy football really prepare players for league football? And we’re talking about Premier League football here”, Pulis was quoted earlier this season.
Telergaph confirmed today that Serge Gnabry’s loan deal has been cut short and that the German is returning back to Arsenal.
However, with the host of Championship clubs interested in the player, Gnabry is expected to be sent on another loan during the winter transfer window.
Brighton are thought to be leading the chase for the talented winger, who has so far made 10 appearances and managed one goal for Arsenal in the Premier League.
