According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has asked Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to sign former-Manchester United and current Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez in January.
Sanchez reportedly believes that the Mexican international would be a top signing for the north London club in January. In fact such is his admiration for the Bayer striker that he has put in a personal request to his boss to sign Hernandez.
Hernandez only moved to Germany in the summer from Old Trafford, but has been in superb form this season, scoring 19 goals in 16 appearances for the German side in all competitions, including 11 in the Bundesliga.
The Gunners have previously been linked with the 27-year-old and it seems any move for the Mexican would have the highly-regarded Sanchez’s seal of approval.
Arsenal’s striking options are not terrible with Olivier Giroud current occupying the lone striker role and Theo Walcott as back-up. However, the addition of a new striker can only help the Gunners hopes of winning the Premier League title this season.
Whether Wenger takes Sanchez’s request into account remains to be seen, but Hernandez has been in fantastic form and would make a good addition to the Gunners squad.
Would Javier Hernandez be a good signing for Arsenal in January?
