Arsenal’s game against Manchester City tonight has been postponed due to several players and staff members coming into contact with the Olympiacos owner, who is known to have contracted the coronavirus.
The big concern for many is that Arsenal could now be forced to have a number of other games called off due to the fact that they have to quarantine for 14 days. They have a game against Burnley coming up at the weekend, and while this may all be redundant if the virus continues to spread as it has been doing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that being called off, too.
This is a very fluid situation and it’ll take a while for most of us to wrap our heads around the implications, but before all of that, we need to wait and see just how much worse it’s going to get. It seems as if we’re still a good few weeks away from the peak of this virus hitting the United Kingdom, and at that stage, football will be one of the last things on the mind of the higher-ups.
Self isolate if you feel like you’re not doing all too well, folks. It could save a whole lot of people.
How do you feel about the postponement of the game?
