Gunners are said to be eyeing Paris Saint-Germain youngster Yacine Adli, according to fresh reports emerging from L’Equipe.
The north London club will face tough competition for the signature of this highly-rated 17-year-old with Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus all said to be keeping close tabs on him.
Adli is representing the French heavyweights in the UEFA Youth League this season where he’s made a string of compelling performances in an attacking midfield position. The young star made 11 appearances for PSG in this competition, adding one goal in the process.
The latest reports claim that Yacine Adli is looking towards the exit door at the Parc des Princes with Arsenal prepared to offer him an escape route.
The player is however not too keen on a Premier League move and would rather continue his career at Barcelona or Juventus.
Both Catalan and Italian giants boast impressive youth setup and a track record of developing and nurturing top talent and Adli is reportedly keen to continue his development with either of the clubs.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also renowned as a manager with an eye for young talent but Arsenal are slowly losing ground in the race with Europe’s top sides.
The Gunners are coming off from a disappointing 3-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup final by Manchester City which was their most realistic chance of grabbing at least a single piece of silverware this season.
Arsenal sit in sixth place in the league and look set to miss out on a top-four finish for the second year running. Their only chance of earning the Champions League berth next season would be to win the Europa League.
Wenger’s men will have to eliminate Italian giants AC Milan in the Round of 16 if they are to maintain the Europa League dream alive although their last performance in the second leg of the last 32 against Ostersund last week did not look too promising.
