With the Euro 2016 drawing to a close, Arsenal officials appear to have stepped up their efforts in an attempt to seriously reinforce the squad ahead of the 2016/2017 campaign.
The Gunners have so far recruited Granit Xhaka from Borussia M’gladbach, while agreeing a deal for Jamie Vardy, before the striker rejected a move to the Emirates, and there have been some new developments this week.
ESPN is reporting that Arsenal are ready to offer staggering £43 million for Germany starlet Julian Draxler, who has been in excellent form at the Euro 2016 finals.
The Gunners missed out on the attacking midfielder last summer as he left Schalke to join Wolfsburg, but they seem ready to make things right in the summer transfer window.
At the same time, L’Equipe claims that Arsenal are set to challenge Monaco for the signature of Lille full-back Djibril Sidibe, who is almost certain to quit Stade Pierre Mauroy this summer.
Despite impressing at left-back last season, the 23-year-old prefers playing on the right side of defence and he could be a very good addition to the squad at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, the search for a high-profile centre forward continues, with Daily Mirror suggesting that Arsenal are in pole position to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
Premier League rivals Chelsea are keen as well, but the Spaniard does not seem to want to move to Stamford Bridge as he wants to be playing Champions League football next term.
Arsenal are also looking at Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette, who is valued at £34 million, and the Gunners could make a move on the Frenchman if they fail to lure Morata to the Emirates.
The North London outfit seem determined to mount a serious title challenge next season and they can be backed at 11/2 to lift the Premier League trophy.
