He is an Arsenal youth product and a footballer who’s been around the club for full 16 years, but is jack Wilshere’s Arsenal career nearing its end?
It’s a question that keeps popping ahead of every transfer window.
This recurring issue once again hit the surface just at the time when the injury-plagued star got back to full fitness and back into Arsenal squad.
Wilshere completed full 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup 1-0 victory over Doncaster and made 23 minutes on the pitch in a 3-1 Europa League win over FC Koln before that.
The England midfielder has been kept on the sidelines for 123 days in the previous campaign which was supposed to bring improvement to his physicality over on loan at Bournemouth. He returned to Arsenal with a broken leg which brought the loan to a premature end but Arsene Wenger never lost faith in his ability.
Still, it is now being reported that it’s Jack Wilshere who’s lost faith.
The 25-year-old midfielder has only nine months left in his Arsenal contract at the Emirates but the talks over a new deal have gone cold recently after Wilshere rejected a proposed offer from his club.
And The Sun reports that Wilshere is unhappy with Wenger and hoping to change clubs at the end of the season.
Wilshere was heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates this last summer with West Ham, a couple of Italian sides and a host of Turkish clubs all said to be interested in acquiring his services.
Starsport latched on the initial departure claims suggesting that Wilshere is unwilling to wait until the end of the season and is pushing for a January switch to West Ham.
After his Europa League cameo against FC Koln, Jack Wilshere could return to action this week against BATE Borisov.
Gunners stand at 4/9 to claim a win on the road.
