Yes, it’s Aaron Ramsey time.
The Welshman scored last night in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Vorskla, confirming that he isn’t just going to wait in the wings for the next few months until making a definitive decision about his contract. Instead, he’s going to focus on doing what he does best – and that’s putting the team first on the pitch.
Alas, as you can probably tell by the title, we’re playing the role of the devil as we continue to speculate over what the future may hold for the 27 year old. Many, many teams are said to be interested in signing him if he does end up leaving the Emirates in the summer, which seems more and more likely with each little snippet that comes out from either the club or the man himself.
Alas, regardless of how you feel about him, there’s no denying that it’d be hard to see him playing in the Premier League for another team as opposed to abroad. So then, many of you may not be too happy to learn that Everton are one of the frontrunners to land his signature – but they seem to be planning on playing it smart. According to reports in England, the Toffees are going to wait it out and see what transpires between Ramsey and the club before making a formal move.
Will they, won’t they
This a smart move from Everton because not only does it mean they don’t have to deal with the hustle and bustle of his current contract, but it also makes them look like a really viable option for him. He’ll see that they’re being respectful and allowing things to play out, which is a quality that he may be a fan of. Obviously we could be completely off the mark in that regard, but still, it’s worth thinking about.
Everton aren’t exactly the most appealing of clubs to indicate they’re interested in Ramsey, and we’re only saying that because the likes of Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been linked – both of whom are legitimate contenders to win the Champions League this season. Signing Aaron Ramsey is probably going to cause a polarising reaction regardless of who ends up doing so, but regardless of the fan reaction, they’ll be getting one hell of a midfielder.
Do you think Everton will make an offer for Aaron Ramsey?
