Denis Suarez appeared to laugh off reports about Arsenal wanting to cancel his loan from Barcelona and send him back to Spain.
The rumour about the Gunners being unhappy with the Spaniard originated from some extremely unreliable sources but still managed to pick up pace. The speculations, no doubt, stemmed from the fact that Mesut Ozil has come back into the side and has been playing well, as well as that Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are preferred options to Suarez for manager Unai Emery.
However, the adaptation for players who arrive to England and the Premier League has been known to take time, and it’s certainly far too early to judge the success of the 25-year-old’s loan spell at the Emirates.
Suarez appeared to have responded to the rumour via Instagram, by posting a photo of himself bearing a caption
“Back on training with a [smiling e-moji].
“Let them keep talking [e-moji with a finger pressed across the lips]”.
Having had a number of loan spells away from the Catalan club, Suarez will be hoping to have found a new home at the Emirates, working with a manager he knows from his days at Sevilla. It certainly remains to be seen if he’ll be given a permanent deal at the end of the season, but there can be no question about his potential for anyone who has been watching him play.
Meanwhile, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has shed some light on Arsenal’s failure to land Monchi as a new technical director. Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel in response to a viewer’s question, the well known journalist said Sevilla had made an emotional appeal, a desperate call to Monchi, saying that things were going all downhill since he had left to join AS Roma two years ago, and that they needed him badly to steady the ship with his input.
