Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom could be set for a January move away from the North London club, according to reports.
The 21-year-old is close to returning to action following a back injury he suffered back in September, but the Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger is contemplating an option to send his striker out on loan in order to help him gain valuable first-team experience.
Akpom has made only one senior appearance for the Gunners this term, taking part in Arsenal’s 4-0 League Cup win over Nottingham Forest and is likely to find it hard to break into the first-team fold.
Having impressed last season on a loan spell at Hull City, the England international is increasingly likely to be shipped off once more in order to continue his development.
Akpom’s former club Brentford as well as Fulham and Cardiff City are believed to be interested in taking on Akpom in January.
The England forward went through the youth ranks in Arsenal before breaking into the first-team in 2013.
Akpom has so far made only 4 senior appearances for Arsenal though.
He found it hard to make an impression on Arsene Wenger and has so far been sent on loans at Brentford, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest and most recently Hull City.
The 21-year-old forward made his debut with England at Under-16 set-up in 2011 and has since then made appearances for every other youth side.
Currently a member of Under-21s Chuba Akpom has made four appearances and added 3 goals.
